Anyone know of any place to buy boot lifts I found a ton online but was looking for some user input.Im doing a jason costume and wanting to add 2 to 3 inches height id planed on using my cocorans from my ghostbusters suit any of you vaders or superhero guys got any ideas?

You have to be careful of the lifts that go in the shoes. Mainly depending on how much room you have at the top bridge of the foot. I have a pair that add 1.5" and with the boots I have them in, my feet are really squished in them, and the pressure against the top of my feet really hurt after a while.

I need a few inches for Abraham Sapien but intend to wear it for many hours at a time. Would you suggest prehaps getting shoes that are a size larger than you would usually need?

I've been reading the various threads about the pink/blue carving foam and I think some of that cut to the right shape would be ideal, its durable enough to stand on and cheap enough to replace as and when it wears out :thumbsup FYI I have several sheets of it and its about 25mm thick

I wear a size 9 but had to get a size 13 boot for my foot to work with 3" lifts on the inside for my Vader. The top of my foot is squished but not bad. Sizing up really helped with this problem.

This is why you se Darth Vader in episode 3 has the angle unormal on the boots. Its because he wears lift inside but the boot is designed on the outside to look like a normal boot. The ankle wrist goes up allot sooner.

Its also one of the reasons he might look to walking a bit wierd of the metall bed.

So I wear a size 12 id have to go to a size 16 for them to fit wright ***** thats gonna suck!!

Hey all, just caught this post and wanted to get some thoughts on it. I to will be looking to increase my height for my Han costume. I'm only 5'5" and wanted to add a little height to more accuratly reflect Han. Lucky for me I am built funny so a little height in the legs won't make my upper body look funny!
I was looking at some 2 / 2.5 inch inserts. I figure with the 1inch or so the boots will add i will be at about 5'8" as Han. I will be spending a bit of money on the boots and just need to be sure about the sizing. I wear a 9 normally so would a 9 1/2 be reasonable or is the 2.5 inch lift not enough for concern....???

Don't know exactly how much bigger you have to go in size. I took my lifts with me when I bought the boots and tested different sizes. I only had to go about a size bigger. It depends on the shape of the boot and your foot. The good thing is, that since you are doing Jason, you'll be using lace up boots. That gives you a little more leeway in that you can loosen your laces and then tie them up around your foot.

It takes practice to walk in them... and your feet will hurt... especially at first.

I made some today, it's fairly easy to do and cheap.
I was cleaning out the garage at my parents house and found a foam pad used for gardening, it's to cushion your knees when working on stuff. It was a really dense 1" foam and looked like some of the lifts I had found on ebay. So, I traced the heel of my boots (which I ordered a size too large just for this purpose), and cut out the foam slightly smaller than the tracing as to fit inside the boot. I cut out four pieces using a band saw, two for each shoe and then hot glued two pieces to each other. I then cut them at a sharp angle. They fit in perfectly and raised me about two inches, not including the sole of the boot. Very comfortable, and like I said cheap...since the foam didn't cost me a dime.

I thought it was a homage to frankenstein with the way he walked :)

I cut the soles in half on my boots and inserted flip flops in between and put risers inside for my Jason boots. All together I get about 5 inches of added height.
