Boba Fett to Magneto helmet conversion; completed!

OK. I'm attempting to modify a Boba Fett casting into a Magneto X-men : First Class helmet. I had to quater the casting and use heavy bondo work to get the basic shape. Now I'll fine tune it, correct the cut out and add the trim detail. I'm about halfway done. You can check out a short video on youtube.

Did some more work. Added some to the bottom for the "flare" . May have to flaten the top some but I like what I have.

Yes i probably took too much out when i cut the pie shape piece from front to back. I'll add a crown of bondo to correct and fill and sand the area. unless you are talking about the middle opening of the face, that too.

Here I put up a clay wall opposite to the detail I wanted to add, then spread bondo into it to create the trim detail.

Wow, I had to see it to believe it. I don't think I could do that to a Boba Fett helmet myself... but I'm glad to see your progress and what has become a great looking piece.

I'm uncertain as to whether you should be stoned by the masses for a sacrilegious act, or commended for such ingenuity. Currently I'm leaning towards the latter.

Well it's finished. All in all I'm pretty happy with it. If you compare close there are some subtle differences. I'd say I put about 12 hours into it. Have yet to mold it. I would like to see if there is interest in this piece before I do that, If so I was thinking of doing a run. So anyone interested? Post here or PM me for details.
