Bo Katan Helmet...need some help!

I just started on a helmet kit for my GF, as she's doing the full suit. I have been searching for reference but I cannot seem to find any real good visuals. I know that the helmet is a two tone blue, which appear to me, looks like the same shades of light and dark blue as a Jango fett helmet.

My questions really is are the key slots on the back supposed to be cut out or is that really a personal preference?

Also, if I stick with the same blues, I'll use what I know, but if anyone knows of "established" colors/paints, I'd appreciate that. Also if anyone has a good technique for getting that animated look, how it looks "splotchy"

the helmet is 2 colors of blue /white and gray and badges are black but if you really want to go like clone wars look the other blue behind ears and key slot is realy gray like her armor parts

this one is 501st approved .......... so base yours on that ref
