Hi all
I started this some time ago and just about have it wrapped up now. Very happy with the way it's shaping up. Started as an old wood box I bought on the 'bay for 6 dollars. I took the hardware off sanded off the finish. I tried to stencil a design on a few different ways, messed it up a few different ways as well. After I stenciled it I used tung oil on the box. I lined it with felt and used foam mat material to make the cutouts. Lastly I made a pocket that I plan to put the instruction manual in once I print it out. The design is close to Kokanee's design. I got permission from him to use it as long as I posted pics when I was done. The label on the ammo box was his as well. Opinions welcome!

Thanks guys! Never have done that kind of work before. Was difficult wrapping my head around how to lay the felt and make the pocket.

Looks great! Can you share a bit more about your stencil process? I have a similar project in mind and have been trying to figure out how to create a nice stencil. Mine is for a WW2 ammo crate.

Thanks!

I have a coworker with a vinyl printer. She made them for me. I placed them on the wood , then used Modge Podge to seal the wood in the stencil lines. Once dry painted it with black arcrylic paint. After it dried I sealed the wood with tung oil.
