Blackhole Trooper

I have pretty much given up on tryin to define what is right or wrong in the TK world. Its really too complicating.

best advice is to head to FISD - the 501st stormtrooper detachment and do your research, as no doubt - they will be a criticism of any of the screen derived helmet you decide to go with.

but even if you arent interested in a screen derived helmet - theres info there on fan sculpts too.

just becareful to do ur research - as WTB threads are not allowed on 501 boards.

I thought he meant the robots from the film 'Blackhole'.

Ditto, at first...then I realized that there seems to be a new Hasbro Stormtrooper produced seemingly every minute for every conceivable occupation. I would'nt doubt it if we see a garbage trooper, grocery store death star trooper, Starbucks trooper, etc., at some point:lol I think they are going alittle too far.

BTW, I did do an image search on google, and the Blackhole trooper does look pretty cool:thumbsup

They are sometimes referred to as the Stealth Trooper. Also Shadow Trooper, as Hasbro tends to give the shadow name to every variant of trooper they produce.

Although, I do believe that Black Hole Trooper was their original designation, due to the fact that "Black Hole" was the code name for the in-verse scientist who was developing the technology for the Stealth Troopers.

im really interested in one mainly because of the paint job. my local outpost currently got visited by a blackhole trooper from the US and the paint was reflective.

not mirror reflective but reflective

I was going to say, either the plastic was molded in a high glossy black finish, or the guy gave the armor a nice high glossy black paint job to it, and then sealed it with clear coat.

Either way, that would be the way to go, if you are wanting something like that.

I wouldn't ask there as it's a haven for recast armor makers, personally i'd buy an AP set and just paint it myself.
Guy named sitharmor on ebay used to do a nice glossy black set of FX armor for about $450.

So did I!

I think I prefer the klunky brown 'Black Hole' robots to the klunky Glossy Black 'Star Wars' robots anyways! :lol

If the finish looked 'reflective' you may look into automotive paint.

Black base coat with pearl in the clear coat?
