Oh man!
I'm totally working on these costumes!

Really though, I have been for a few months, haha. Funny to see someone else doing it.

"Bill S. Preston, Esquire!"

"Ted 'Theodore' Logan!"

You wouldn't believe it, but these flicks introduced me to Ingmar Bergman. Yes, the "Wyld Stallyns" intorduced me to Bergman! I was watching Bogus when my mother commented on the chess scene, how it was a parody of Bergman's The Seventh Seal, so I asked if I could see it; being the most awesome mother you could ever have, she rented it (which was easier said than done in those days), then I watched it, and was hooked on cinema... a more respectable cinema, that is.

Anyway, cool thread!

This thread makes me happy. Better yet, the link with instructions on how to do a costume is a great resource I can use in the future!

Sorry to dig this up again, but thought I would post some info here:

I started a Ted Bogus Journey costume several years ago and got hung up on the smiley face in the back. I have vector art of the smiley face except that from the measurements I came up with, it is about 15" in diameter. I wanted it in a patch form but most patch places will only do up to a 12" patch. Same thing with screen printing a t-shirt (to cut out and glue on the back). Anyways, here is where I am so far (still have it in hopes that I can get a good lead on a patch or t-shirt shop that will make the smiley face):

Haha, that's me in the photo firebladejedi posted :)

I'll dig out some more pics and post 'em up.

I have the costume pretty much done with thanks to the most excellent http://www.billandted.org/ site, just trying to find a better wig.

My other costumes are both versions of Neo from the Matrix films, by the way ;)

Thanks, Egon!
Something I forgot to add- the "vest" is actually a khaki jacket from The Gap with the sleeves cut off. I put it in a bath of color remover (which turned it pink- strange for a men's jacket????) but since I was shooting for a red color, this was perfect.
The hoodie is a white hoodie with the elastic cuffs cut off and dyed orange. The pull string did not absorb the dye very well but I'm sure I could find an orange draw string if it became that big of a deal. I washed both items (separately of course) with Retayne to try and keep the color from bleeding out when it gets wet. That is pretty much all there is to it.

I know it has been a few months but thought I would post an update.

Finally got the smiley face done and put on the back of the vest. I had the image cut out on vinyl which I used as a stencil on yellow cotton and then used Heat N Bond Ultrahold to affix it to the back of the vest.
