Beverly Crusher

My wife has decided to do a Beverly Crusher Star Trek TNG costume and I figured I'd start a thread for her costume as well. So far we've picked up a rank pip and communicator set off of eBay and purchased a teal cardigan/coat. We also managed to pick up a Playmates Medical Tricorder off of eBay as well. The communicator is, well, lacking. It lacks dimension and is shiny metal. Additionally, the silver and gold are so close in color that it just won't work. Anyone have suggestions on where to buy a really good replica TNG communicator? So far, I'm leaning to roddenberry.com. As for the shirt and pants, we've picked out a seller on eBay that does custom STTNG pieces and the feedback seems pretty good - eBay seller "cosplayying". I'm open to suggestions on where/whom to buy these from as well, though! I'll post some pics up tonight of the pieces we have so far.

I don't think you can go wrong with the rod.com communicator.

I'm pretty sure Dr. Crusher's uniform was a one peice jumpsuit like most of the female uniforms on the show.

Crusher had several different "looks" throughout the show... particularly her hair, which changed a lot.

Here's Crusher in her 3rd season coat, soon after the character returned from being gone in the 2nd season. Note the high collar on the tunic, which started in the 3rd season.

I love their expressions in that first season picture. Geordie looks like he smells something. Riker looks nerveous as though to say "Uh-oh... I think he smells it." Wesley looks like he just got out of bed... or maybe he's just mad about the ugly outfit they have him in. Data clearly seems to be showing emotion. Like he's saying "Yeah, I'm bad and you know it." Dr. Crusher seems fascinated by something noone else seems to be able to see or care about. Picard seems to trying to figure out what it is he smells.

I've seen better high school pictures.

now here, the 1st season jacket seems to have a BLACK COLLAR! I never noticed that... :confused

Also note the rounded shoulders, with the long seams.

Deanna is just looking at the camera man real hard thinking "If you try to look up my skirt one more time I will use my mental abilities to make your head explode... I have those right? I'm sure I have those."

Tasha doesn't look any different. She didn't have a whole lot of time to flush out as a character.

Hi all! I'm azknight's wife. So this costume will be for me. Thank you all for your help so far! This is proving to be tougher than I thought - or maybe I'm just being too picky. I can't make my own; so thus far I am trying to pick between the following two costumes:

Try to picture this one as a woman's shirt. I emailed the seller and they will tailor it for a more feminine cut. (Option 1)

Here are the pants.

And the jumpsuit. (Option 2)

Option 1 -
Pros: The color is right. The pants don't look dumb on the bottom. They'll actually go over a pair of tall black boots. It will be custom made to fit me.
Cons: It's not a one piece and I'm not sure how well it'll work to tuck the shirt in. The black V that goes up the shirt doesn't go up high enough. It should be midway between breast and belly button, it looks like it barely even makes it to the belly button. It's from China and if they screw it up, sending it back will be a real pain, if even possible.

Option 2 -
Pros: It's a one piece. The black V goes up high enough. It's local, so it probably wouldn't be as hard to send back if we didn't like it.
Cons: The color is all wrong. The pant legs just look dumb at the bottom. It looks a bit cheap...

There was another one that was nearly perfect, but they evidently don't make those for petite girls, so it won't work. Let me know your opinions! Thanks everyone!

It is the same company you are looking at, They will alter the Uniform to your spec's if you want them to. They can move the Black V to where you need it if you ask.

I ordered my costume last weekend from Cosplaying! Yay!!! I will post pictures when it gets here!

For a communicator, get this or this and spray a coat of dull clear coat on it. Trust me, itt will look better than the painted resin ones by far and still be the accurate size and shape (something most of the metal ones can't boast). It's also magnetic, so won't poke holes in your uniform or require velcro to be sewn on.

For rank pips, go here. Yes, they are pins and will poke holes in your uniform, but they have a single backing so will be easier to line up than the individual rank pips you are likely to find elsewhere. These are similar to the ones made for the show except these are resin and the ones on the show were metal. But they look far more accurate than the shiny metal, individual pips you find everywhere.
