Best way to attach Aluminum to resin

Ok, what I have is a copy of the bottom half of my sidious saber in resin, and I wanted to attached the top half (emitter section) to the resin, so should I use some sort of adhesive, or try and thread it to the resin of some sort...?

The resin bottom I'm using now wont be permanent, just my "experimental" version.

Would it be possible to add a 1" threaded bar into the top piece?

If so, you could drill a hole in the (top and) bottom half and screw the threaded rod in, thus giving you a removable section for later replacement.
