Best glue for foam dreads to latex mask?

I did a few searches to see if I could get a definitive answer but so for nothing solid. If I missed it then I apologize for a needless post.

I was wondering what the best glue for attaching PolyFoam dreads to a painted latex undermask is.

Thought I'd see what everyone has tried and how well it worked.

Thanks!

I'm glad someone brought this up because I'm going to try to use hot glue to do mine and I don't know how it'll work.

Don't use hot glue as it wont work. The hot glue will melt the polyfoam dread. And! The hot glue will NOT stick to latex no matter how much you put on. The slightest movement or tug will dislodge the dread from the latex head. Been there done that. Predatrhuntr is right. Superglue is the best way.

The other thing you can do is make a small cut the shape of an "X" in the latex where the dread will go. Not too big because you dont want it to be loose in there. It has to be snug so that you cant easily pull it out. Then push your dread in and pull it through from the inside.

I've heard some people doing this in conjunction with using super glue to give it an extra hold...

Cool...super glue it is. I didn't think hot glue would stick to latex...it only seems to work of very porous materials in my experience.

The undermask is already foamed on the inside so cutting an X in it would be a lot more trouble. Once I glue the dreads in place we'll see how they hold up.

thanks for the input!!

I always thought that it would.
Oh well, just means another trip to walmart for glue

Would Gorilla Glue work?

I have tried using Gorilla glue on other foam items, and it didn't hold very well.

But then again, I was pulling pretty hard on the pieces that were glued.

Well, I don't want to screw it up.

I'll keep looking

I think I read (somewhere) that the hot glue on the dreads with the X cut on the mask would make it hold.
