best brush on chrome paint i have ever seen so far

6 bucks for the small one, 13 for the big one!? Hella cheap indeed! Absolutely a no brainer so I purchased some to test out. Thank you for linking the vid, I had no idea these were even a thing! I am curious how well they will perform over a proper glossy black base coat and how durable it is. I usually hand paint my chrome for weathering and such but this looks a LOT more convenient.

My vid:

no primer or anything needed. Though, after rubbing my finger on it does get dull, so a clear coat is definitely a must if the item will be handled :)

I'm actually wondering what would happen if you lightly buff it, as that usually has a strengthening effect on the metallic paint.

But clear coating it would definitely be interesting to see if it holds its shine.

This pen can definitely help all those people who want a real chrome looking Hot Toys or any toy endoskeleton. Seems just perfect for the job. :)

Most people do them wrong, to be honest. You need to use a water based clear and add the smallest hint of a blue or violet tone to the clear before spraying. When the clear goes on and dries you will not see any of the color, but it will keep the chrome from dulling or brassing. Don't ask me how it works, it just does.. same trick works for clear epoxies used for eyes.

I would love to see how the clear coat reacts. Most of these chromes look good until clear coat goes on it.
