Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider build

Sup guys, I've been trolling on this site for awhile now and its already been 2 years since I wanted to make a scarlet spider costume.. so this is what I did so far.


started off with making my own lay out with the lenses from what I saw online..
drew it up, traced it on a foam pad and cut it out.. made a few just in case i wasnt satisfied with teh result. The red shirt was used for my testing mask.. I also used a white A shirt for the lens..

So once i received my red morph suit I started on the actual mask it came with. And since visibility was so limited for me with the A shirt, i wanted something close to move style but easy to make. I went down to a local joannes craft store and found some fabric and a mesh style material.

decided to be more creative and made a face shell that I found on youtube.. turned out nice but thinking of using paper mache on top then sanding it smoothly..

Next is some homemade ankle pouches from a random guess bad lying around the house. lol

I put together webshooters made of wooden post I bought at walmart

Made the belt yesterday .. Now I'm just debating on whether to paint the spider on the hoodie or find some type of black mat material for the spider.

also debating on maybe making a better lens style for the mask..

as well as adding muscle definition to my morph suit after finding out about the lycra suits.. I have the print out for one to be made but since i have the morph suit I will save that for the next comic con. haha

Love to see another Scarlet Spider out there. Looks good so far Man O. I did one myself this year for the Emerald City Comic Con in March. I had a blast. Whatever you do, make it fun man, that's what it's all about.

appreciate the feedback, while I was lurking on the site I stumbled across your build and wanted to do an airbrush of my morph suit as well. lol So far haven gotten the chance too yet having complications on how to do it myself without a manikin

Make a duct tape suit of yourself and then use it as your stand in while you airbrush. I have made one and it works great. You use a lot of duct tape, I think I used 5 or 6 rolls, but I bought them from the dollar store and then filled it with old pillows, t-shirts, pretty much anything I could find and it works perfect. I just hung it with an old metal coat hanger from my garage rafters and presto, a make shift me....

i was actually thinkin of that. I didt the abdomen area just with pillows but with the arms and legs I want to make sure if i stuff the suit it will have definition to it .. the duct tape idea sounds great . Do you have any pics by any chance?
