I wasn't sure where to post this since its not really about movies other than my own.
I'm shooting a short horror film, and I need some breakaway bottles. I know how to make them, but I'm trying to cut the cost as much as I can.
I also need to have them made by next weekend, so I need to order supplies like today.. since with the holidays and all I'm not going to have much time.
I know smooth on products are used by tons of people, but they are a bit pricey. We did a test with some rebound 25, but we didn't have quite enough.. so I'm still going to have to buy something to do this with. Most of the tutorials I've watched, use either a 2 liter bottle as a mold box or some other cylinder, and they've been using 2 trial packs of Oomoo 25 or 30 which is about 50 bucks give or take. I want to try to cut that cost some, as it seems sort of high just to make a bottle out of sugar.
Any suggestions? Can I use a smaller box and only use 1 trial pack? Or is there some other form of silicone or method I can use to mold this for cheaper. I need to get maybe 2-3 bottles out of it.
