Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Ok I have several things to say --
After the first few months (after the announcement of of Ben Affleck as Batman), I caved in and I think Ben will do excellent.
Conan o' Brien released an unseen footage of Ben speaking in the Batsuit and it looks badass
and yes I have seen the footage in the trailers and I did not stop watching them in the first couple weeks, I was in love.
I feel like Gone Girl was a reflection of Ben in reality when people (us nerd people found out he was cast as the new Batman). And it was a *new awaken*.
I had no reason to judge Ben, other than his performance in Daredevil as people say, which I was not familiar with as the comic book.
Ben was chosen to be Batman because Snyder wants him to be older and taller than Cavill. He want to over power him & I understand that, it makes SENSE!!!
I am so excited to see the new film, I've been waiting (somewhat) patiently for years for this and I'm happy Snyder could bring this to us fans.
I don't know how you feel but I love Man of Steel...
I think Snyder will do great, I'm optimistic about this movie.
I did not read the other mentions in this movie, if you don't like it, that's fine with me, we are all entitled to our own opinions. I just personally wanted to share mine.
I could write a whole essay about this but this is the summary of what I think, I'm way to excited.

That new footage - it's pretty good to see Superman being a badass. In the animated "War" when Supes meets Bats for the first time, Supes doesnt take any ***** whatsoever. And I like that approach. I do hope they push a little more nice guy/hope into it aswell though.

However. I thought Cavill seemed ever so slightly wooden out of context. Once I've seen what has pissed him off so much I think this scene will work well.

Can't wait!!!

Definitely getting this vibe from that scene - which I imagine follows at least a small battle where Batman has used various gadgets and vehicles to attempt to damage Supes. Hence why Supes is rather aggravated.

Up until seeing this piece of footage I thought Affleck would be holding the film up. Now I'm not so sure.

I hated MoS but, in this exchange, Cavill had the greater presence.
This should be a confrontation of giants so I'd expect them both to be portrayed as equally formidable. But Batman/Affleck didn't look at all imposing. Some of that is Affleck, some of it is the costume and some of it is the way he was filmed. Batman is shot from a higher angle which accentuates the fact that his character is shorter and makes him look weak. I don't know if that's intentional. Maybe it will make more sense in the context of a longer exchange that wasn't shown.
I must say the Batman outfit just doesn't look good here and I'm trying to put my finger on it. Maybe it's his posture. Maybe his jaw is too round in that scene and isn't angular and chiseled in the way he's typically drawn. Maybe I'm just used to seeing Affleck as more emotive than stoic and that I'm not buying him here (which is also strange because he was so good in the third trailer).

"Do you bleed?/You will." is such an awfully contrived line. It doesn't even sound like a threat. I wish they would stop inserting it into every trailer.

Cavill's subsequent "dude please" look was actually pretty great - and appropriate.

I hope the Batvoice gets changed up for future movies, we just don't need it IMO and while it's better than Bale's I don't prefer it. There's a reason the Keaton and Conroy Batman voices are iconic, because they're simple.

Very well said. I agree 100%.

They released a clip from the new soundtrack. Sounds very very similar to Man of Steel, but I like it.

Keaton's batvoice is iconic? Since when?

I think mostly the "I'm Batman" line stuck out in my head, but to be honest I might have lumped Keaton/Conroy together because they are the voices I grew up with and BTAS was pretty heavily influenced by the Burton Batman films.

I absolutely agree. Was trying to find a way to put it but you nailed it.

My favorite part so far is when Superman does that little head turn after the "Do you bleed?"

I can't help but laugh. The look on his face is just priceless. "I just ripped your doors off and you're threatening me? B***h, I'm Superman" vibe. :lol

Looks an awful lot like the DC Universe online flash :

So, either it's on purpose to hide the real suit, or they don't have a suit yet (doubtful) or they just got very inspired by the dcu flash and decided to adapt it in live action. I'd be fine with that*, although I was expecting something more akin to both the Batman and Superman suits, thin screen printed fabric stretched over a muscle suit, essentially giving the appearance of a fabric suit that doesn't look like spandex.

*looks good in motion for sure :

That doesn't look anything like Ezra Miller. Judging by its wacky proportions I'd say it's almost certainly CG... The DC online Flash looks to be a great candidate.

Well there's no way Ezra's ever going to achieve Flash's Olympic runner body proportions, so giving him an armored look was the next best thing I suppose. Gadot's WW looks passable even after all the fans moaning and groaning that she was too skinny (I was one of them), so I'm willing to give DC and Ezra the benefit of the doubt until they show him in costume.

Lol at using DCUO art..

with the excepetion of batman i dont need these superheroes to be over the top buff just so it would make their powers more believable. Especially not one like Flash who isnt even known for his brute strenght. Hes all about speed and in the end its a superpower so nothing to do with how they look. Same for gadot who btw looks better then i hoped. As for Batman he is just a human who ofc has to be at the peak of what is possible for a human.

I actually find superman to be too much. You can tell even better now that its a muscle suit then his MoS version and that is a shame. Im still very excited for this tho and hoping that DC will knock all that they release out of the park and we can have 2 great franchises with marvel and dc.

The Pictures of this Ezra miller kid look make him look like a male version of gal gadot with a beard. Not how I picture the flash.

Personally, I'm glad Grant isn't the movie flash, since DC hasn't done with the movies like I'd like to see them do. He's better off being the TV flash in the long run.
The movie is a one and done.

And yet how many times have people been so against a certain casting only to see it actually be good afterwards. Reserve judgement till after is what i always say ;)

It's Official. DC has NO idea WTF it's doing.

Even if most people hated New 52. even if most people hate that the movie and TV universes are totally seperate....

this is just going to confuse and anger more people.

God I hate 'current branding'. Turtles suffered from this as well...any iteration that was current got the most focus, even where it didn't belong.
