Batman TDK / The Dark Knight Rises 3D model and print *BIG UPDATE PAGE 3*

Have you thought about scaling the armor parts in different sizes to fit different height and body proportioned people?

Bale was lean in the Dark Knight suit, I've noticed the segmented parts don't fit together well when they've been attached to suits fitting guys with bulkier proportions, wider chest and shoulders... Since they're CAD files it seems there's an opportunity here to adjust the armor pieces up or down a size to fit medium, large and extra large sizes so things could look proportioned right on people without Bale's measurements.

Sure only problem would be then you need to print the different sizes then mold and cast different sizes, tons of work and money put out. It's not feasible to do any more than one size, Bale sizebeing optimal since it's movie accurate and should fit a variety of people.

Demonstrating what I mean... I know it's a different animal entirely, but the DK leather motorcycle suit armor parts were patterned from an original DK suit. As convenient as it was getting a "turnkey" suit. when the parts were sewn onto suits for XL sizes like me, it looks wrong because the armor parts are small and there is so much material space between them (I'm a 50" chest and 44" waist).

If armor parts were scaled up or down a size, a set of armor would look proportionally right on everyone ranging up or down from the Bale armor part sizes. This is one of the things that has kept me away from getting replica parts for myself recast from the film suits from vendors like Hell's Kitchen because despite their lineage the armor parts don't proportion right on larger guys so I opted for the UD suit hoping someone would eventually do a 3D model that could be adjusted back and forth for medium, large or extra large sized men.

The Begins suit fit me better because it looked bulkier for my body type, it would be great though if modeling parts allowed the scaling adjustment so it could look right on people not Bale's size & height.

I did understand what you meant, you did no understand my post though.
It would come down to the time and money to invest in doing different sized prints and molds. This is far from a cheap process in time or money so no we wont be doing larger armor, just not enough demand to justify the cost and time.

Screen accurate is already out there with the castings Kris makes in Australia, he had a screen used suit in his possession if people want direct lineage and I think a few other people have been casting from DK suits also?

Not everyone's Bale sized, three different mold sizes would cover a larger buyer base of a screen accurate look that fits everyone but if there's no interest in that then I guess that answers the question.

No I did understand what you meant but was illustrating my point also. When you say screen accurate, it doesn't get any more accurate than castings from a screen used suit as beautiful and accurate as your CAD models are that's why I was asking if you guys had considered multiple part sizing for people not lucky to have his size to fit in the suit right but if mold costs are the issue then it's a matter of Bale sized guys deciding where they want to get Bale sized suits.

The great opportunity of 3D modeling is that is allows options like these but I understand it's also cost prohibitive if you can't or don't want to do a three size sales model. Bigger guys will have to stick with the Begins suit for correct looking proportions even though it's a ***** to wear since it's a urethane shell.

Begins is more comfortable to wear than a properly built TDK suit, the mesh is not easy to wear and the armor is heavier.

Yeah I agree with this BIGTIME, I have a HK suit and the screen accurate mesh and boy is it cumbersome!
Its that heavy I have to have harness' on the inside to keep it all held up! All in all the suit weighs in at 20kg, also is VERY hot!

That's a great looking buildup. Do you mind if I ask your proportions (chest, waist, hips and height?)

I thought with the fabric mesh allowing some ventilation it would be a little less hot to wear than the Begins urethane armor with is mounted to a non-porous neoprene bodysuit. Funny thing is I do prefer the Begins suit but my previous one was so hard to move around in due to the way it's designed as opposed to the segmented armor of the TDK suit, to which seems a little easier and less weight to move around in (I think the UD leather segments probably weigh as much as urethane counterparts) and although you sweat in both suits, the two layer mesh fabric material I had to compare with of a UD TDK suit was preferable.

I have a Dullam Begins foam I haven't mounted yet that will be practically featherweight but so frighteningly susceptible to damage.

Thanks for the feedback.
