I am just about done with my Scarecrow costume ( nothing like being late on a trend by a few years LOL). I have everything I need: got very lucky at the local Salvation army for the blue suit, brown tie and even found a tan shirt with dark olive stripes. I handmade the mask from burlap: Only took 3 tries and lots of cursing at the kitchen walls. The hardest part was trying to get the mouth shaped correctly. I am content with how it turned out but not totally satisfied: too dark of a color and not the perfect shape.
Currently working on the fear gas emitter: I was able to construct shell from pvc pipe. The working internals allow me to spray a burst of CO2. It was made from a bike tire inflator( http://www.walmart.com/ip/Genuine-Innovations-CO2-Tire-Inflator/21674382 ) a length of tubing and a Kobalt Inflation Kit from Lowes. There is not enough liquid int he 16 gram CO2 cannisters to give a good burst of cold fog from the gas alone. I am gonna attempt to coat the inside of the tube with baking soda as that is all natural and will completely dissolve in water unlike other powders.
I hope to get up some pics of me in the costume shortly; for now here are the pieces:
