Batman 2014 Custom Build

I have lots of pieces done already. We're trying to get all of this done by May 3rd Free Comic Book Day as we're bring the Batmobile and Wonder Woman mobile to a couple of events that day.

Here is a custom utility belt complete with a 'shark repellent' spray capsule on the right side :rolleyes


The pockets are functional as well as the spray capsules. I think it turned out better than I hoped for. It was going to be gold/yellow first however my costume is going ultra black all around for the stealth factor.

Here are some tests on the cowl to get the 'comic book white' eyes as a test. Haven't quite figured out which route I'm going to go. And yes I know the inside is blue on the first one. I had another mask blue that I cut up since the style of the eyes was more what I was looking for.

Some updates. Finally figured out how to get the white eye comic book style eyes to work and still be able to see. I wore this and drove around in the Batmobile and freaked people out in the WalMart parking lot around 8 at night The tips are no longer blue like these photos show I finished the sculpting of the rear of the tips as well. Eventually they will be tucked into my Aeroskin top/hood.

Very cool! I'm curious how you did the comic book white eyes? I'd like to do that for a Wolverine cowl.

The white is a piece of ground mesh from Home Depot to protect from weeds cropping up. It was like $5 for a huge roll of it. I'll try to find the exact type as I tried some screen mesh for a screen window repair kit and it didn't work well at all. I then 'lightly' painted it white not to fill the mesh with paint so you could still see through. I can send you piece already done up for your mask if you want if you live in the us. Just send me a pm.

So I finished up building some armor pieces for both the stealth suit and my other build. Chest pieces are done as well as the knees and shoulder. I just haven't mounted up the shoulder armor which I'll post up some picture I take today. I also finished up the boots and the gloves. I've been so busy with getting both vehicles ready and helping with my wife's Wonder Woman costume.

Last night I worked on attaching both shoulder pieces and torso armor pieces. Tonight will be my last push before Free Comic Book Day to get the cars and the costumes done. It's going to be a late night.

Here is a picture of the temp build I did for FCBD on Saturday, May 3rd. Next to me is my wife as Wonder Woman. The kids had a blast!

It's been a couple of weeks and I've been asked to surprise the daughter of a woman who visited my work with showing up at her graduation in full Batman gear with the Batmobile and drive her home to her party. I traded one of my 89 Batsuits for a Batman Forever panther suit. No boots, no emblem, the cowl I received was clearly not an adult one, oh and the cape had sharp metal rods super glued in it so it's unusable. So, this is kinda a frankenstein build at this point for Saturday. Returns cowl, batman beyond chest symbol, custom built bracers, fox gloves which look TDK look, custom boots, and the panther gear. It's coming together and hopefully my forever cowl and new cape arrive before Friday. Here are some quick pics of the progress. And on the humorous side: In most of these shots I thought I'd do the sad panda batfleck pose

Now that Denver Comic Con is over Now it's on to bigger items. It will be ambitious however I want to start work on a cross between a Ami Comi type Batman crossed with View attachment 339409 Batman Beyond and Tron. I was introduced to a great group of local people doing great things with EL Sheets and wire that could make this amazing.
