Back to the Future

Hi.
I have a question about a paper prop from Back To The Future. May be a little off-topic, but just for curiosity. We all know the "vanishing photo" of Marty with his brother and sister. They're in front of a well posing for the photo. My question is... does anybody know where is that well? The real location of the photo. Is there a set in Universal Studios that has that well? Was the photo taken on a real location elsewhere? Was it just a fake well made for the photo and that's it?
I've been asking this question to myself for months, just for curiosity and because I love visiting real filming locations when I go to other countries.
Thanks a lot and I hope somebody can help me ;-)

It's the well outside of Spielberg's office at Amblin. It's still there but the location is not open to the public.

Thanks a lot for the info. It's a shame it can't be visited, and I can't even find "real" photos of the place or locate it in Google Maps (it's supposed to be in Universal Studios. I'd love to take a picture there :p Thanks again!

Does anyone have the Fantastic Story Magazine? The best image I could find was this, and it's pretty beat up.

Roland is the man to talk to on this, he used to do a very good re-po of the book....

Here is my version of the Pepsi Perfect stickers. I made a version for white paper sheets and a version for silver reflecting Vinyl sheets. In the next days I will start a run of screen accurate Vinyl stickers. My stickers will not be printed. As the screen used stickers, they will be cut from three different Vinyl sheets (silver reflecting, red and blue).

Those look great, Roland. Good job, as usual, for those "crazy screen-accurate collectors" like me. Thanks for taking your time doing this, and post here for free to all forum members. Looking forward to the vinyl-cut stickers and see how do they look ;-)

These are awesome Roland! I'm still pretty new to making my own props and never even considered using vinyl stickers. My latest version of the bottle uses almost a silver poster board for the logo. It's not perfect (no pun intended) so I'll definitely be using vinyl on my next one!

I don't know the dimensions of an "Uni-Cel No. 2" or a "D" cell, but I can give you the dimensions of the screen used "Burgess" label sheet. It's exactly 8.5 x 6 inches. Each black and white stripe on the label is half an inch wide (16 stripes on the whole label + half an inch overlapping paper). That means the battery must be around 2 1/2 x 6 inches (diameter x height).

Hello my name is Daniel and I am from Argentina !
I just catched ONE (not two unfortunatelly) Archer space patrol walkie talkie on ebay and I intend to modify it to the BTTFIII version.
I think I have seen a well done (MAYBE ROLAND THE MASTER ???) of the Burgess battery decals ??
If anybody has it I will be really thankful !

Thanks
Dan
