Back to the Future

HERE'S the Toyota ad. Whoops.
I could listen to soundtracks all day—seriously, they’ve become the default sounds my devices make for, everything.

Funny thing: my wife and I always clock (fun pun) how “Take this camera, I want to document everything!” sounds lifted when we rewatch Back to the Future Part II. It’s her message notification on my devices.

It’s perfectly in sync, but it doesn’t feel like it anymore. The audio floats—like it’s from another layer entirely. There’s so much depth to it now, I can almost see Doc say it separate from his mouth, fourth dimension.

This is making me want to get the 8C7EE radio. The only one on eBay is teal, though I could just paint it off-white.

Unfortunately it is AM. I really wish there was a cheap broken one so I could simply put a bluetooth speaker inside.
oh yeah, I bought a black one and wrapped it.
I think I might take it apart and paint it for more permanency.

Jeez, Louise! Do you have the whole room set up or just the clock counter?
I do—mostly. I've replicated the opening scene and general props; the space functions as both a living "room" (my chill space) and a shrine.

Right now, I'm working on a few additions: the McFlys’ 2015 doorbell, the phone booth from Lou’s Café, and a couple more details. I have everything I need—I just need to hang the folding door, mount the payphone and phone book, and finish the faux TV.

The TV project’s pretty fun: it currently has a printed CRT front, so it looks like a still from the movie, but there's a real screen behind it. The plan is to build a new facade with accurate buttons, switches, and speaker grills, then cut out the faux glass section so the real TV can show the opening newscast scene. It'll also run my NES and Atari 2600 for BTTF I/II/III, Wild Gunman, and other old-school games.

TL;DR: It's a living set—constantly growing

*everything works too!

... the clocks, the rotary phone, the bell connected to the phone (ok, not the giant speaker - not enough room.) ;)

I've repaired, made and found the items I have and am still *making*!!

What 2015 jacket is that? Looks very different to any I've seen.

the Marty one on the white door?

I had it custom made. I made it to be a motorcycle jacket, so it's leather, so I could ride and show it off

I also "put together" the cute pink outfit the gal at the Cafe 80s was wearing as a Halloween costume last year.

of course no collection is complete without the traditional one.

I'll probably continue collecting hose as well.
*ones I can enjoy wearing, as I have no children to pass it all down to.
