Azuuls Low Budget Costume...still In Progress

Hi guys, I got myself the idea of creating a Predator costume on my own for 3 months now. This is the first time I work with all the materials except for latex and I really have no experience about anything in how to build up the props. Thanks to youtube I had some help :)

So here is the result:

It started out with a spontaneous idea in the evening...

The feet made of Ninjaboots, foamfilling 20mm (I also used them for the dreads and in 15 mm for the neckring), and the Predatorgloves I think from Rubies...they're way to large! So I got disappointed and cut the fingers of to make them my new toes.

Fantastic build so far bio turned out really well. What did you coat it in?

Love the neck rings.. Good lateral thinking.

How did you create the feet they turned out fantastic, would love some more detail.

Keep up the good work and post more pics soon

Cheers

Give me a min. I am still uploading...
Thanks a lot, that motivates to go on. I coated the Bio first the tape with an rawstructure, then I used filler for cars, but it turned out that other filler for small repairs in your home works much better and is easier to sandpaper. Then I simply sprayed it black first 4 thick coats and momentarily with 2 thin coats of silver...but that's not the final colour.

The feetmaking was simple. First I got the idea of glueing foamrolls, 20 mm, on the boots to make the toes. At the same time I ordered myself this Predatorgloves: http://www.amazon.com/Predator-Deluxe-Hands-From-Alien/dp/B002JWCDEI/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1350645427&sr=8-8&keywords=predator+gloves
They suck! Because the are waaaaayyy to large to wear even for an adult with large hands wearing thick winter gloves underneath. So I decided to cut out the fingers and taped them onto the foamfillers so it looked more realistic and the size of the fingers is correct for toes at least. Then I coated the boots with 6 to 8 times with whitecoloured latexmilk. Afterwards I chose the final colour. That's it.

The Bombgauntlet made out of a "Persil"-bottle, but in germany the got a different design, but we got the same bottles in "Coral"
...all that matters is the shape!

Thanks for the info much appreciated.. Just been checking out ninja boots.

Try using photo bucket to upload pics on lair. I ran into same problem as you when uploading pics. There is a tutorial on the lair somewhere how to use p bucket and upload.

Thanks, I'll take a look

just a quick note on pix, u can link to a pic on your facebook or myspace accounts using the url in properties. Awesome suit! Did you coat the suit in rubber latex? What type of paint did you use and did you seal it afterwards? I am building another cardboard one myself. Paper mache is my friend!

mmmh, I'm going to try this, thanks a lot. Well the suit is not done, so there's no sealing yet. I am not sure what to use. For my larpfoamweapons I always use isoflex, but I'm unsure if it's the right sealing.

The latex is basic latexmilk for larpweapons. I mix waterbased colour from the diy market together with the latex. That's it so far. I have no airbrush equipment and no experience in this sector. But if I want to make realalistic looking Predsuits I have to learn it.

Same here. I am looking at compressors and airbrushes locally. There is a thread here: http://www.thehunterslair.com/topic/1267-latex-paint/ AWESOME info!
It will definitely help me. Also, a crafts store here, has a setup for airbrushing t-shirts that I am looking at. It is an airbrush kit, but you pump it by hand, looks like a spray can. Are you building a backpack for this suit as well? It will looks so cool when you finish. Keep pix coming! I made a glaive of wood for my costume, but need to chat with you about foaming Larp weapons. Could you use some of that for making foam cannon molds?

Here is the Huntorial on uploading images...

I hope to snag a MR.I suit when Halloween stores drop prices afterward. I may start with a henderson wetskin suit I have. It's basically a lycra bodysuit. When scuba diving, it goes UNDER our suit to make it easier for the main suit. Did you muscle up the I suit, or paint it stock?

The Predatorhands so far:

1. Step: I took white cotton gloves

2. step: Add at least 3 layers of latex coat in the basic colour.

3. step: Added even more latex layers in the basic colour (now it's 6 at the total)

4. step: The fingernails made of foam

5. step: Glued the fingernails on the gloves and latexed it.
