I hope that someday I can see this movie. I only see out of my left eye. Born that way. Right eye is real, one operation as a kid to get it to move. It was fixed in one position. Looks normal. I have no stereo vision, not able to see 3d, no depth perception. If this is the future of movies/TV I am really screwed.

Is it just me, or does your One Eye avatar follow my cursor... :lol

Fooling aside, the 3D is a cool gimmick, but Aliens, Star Wars, Dune, Blade Runner, Fifth Element, T2, and other Sci-Fi classics would have looked fantastic in 3D, but since they're not, are they any less brilliant, original, or thoroughly entertaining? Of course not, so don't be too disappointed - if it's a well-written, well-acted, and well-directed film, it will hold its own in 2D just like all the rest. I've been watching all the Avatar clips on my laptop and am already blown away by what I see & hear, so the 3D would be an added bonus, nothing more. Don't forget - 3D is also an attribute of the THX or other digital theater surround sound system, so you'll still be getting a 3D experience - just an aural one! :)

Enjoy the film - I'm going this Sunday (to the IMAX 3D, what else? ;) )

Our local theater had 3-D and non-3d screenings. Even in the 3D screening, if you wear the glasses it will cancel out the stereo double-vision and you will see the movie correctly through your one good eye (I tried closing one eye a few times to see the non-3d view). The 3d was nice, but the visuals were great without it (and you won't get the migraines that many viewers suffered).

I'd say just see it in flat 2-D then. The 3-D effect was great (especially during the amazing action scenes on Pandora), but you can still watch it without it.

I didn't go to the 3D showing and my wife and I enjoyed it!

Jeez, I loved this flick. And even at 60 years old, Sigourney Weaver's still got my vote.

She played a great role in this movie...and very good looking for her age in deed!

Just got back from seeing it in 3D Imax: pretty impressive. It was also very interesting to see all of the new releases coming out in 3D. I can't wait for the next Trek movie, lol.

Here's some algebra...

A = 2(D + F) + X

A = Avatar
D = Dances With Wolves
F = Ferngully: The Last Rainforest
x = James Cameron's undying love for the Marine Corps

I liked it!
