Audrey II Open-Mouth FINALLY finished/painted

I got this kit from Beeb89 & BluFive ages ago and it's been sitting in a half finished state for a LONG time. Well I finally pulled it off the back burner and finished it off.

Leaves and tin were from my previous build up of the closed mouth version. The weight of the closed-mouth head had caused the resin stalk to bend over time, so I cut it out of the tin (only the base of the stalk was hot-glued to the bottom of the tin) and replaced it with the open-mouth head, then I filled the tin to the top with plaster, so there won't be any warping this time.

A great kit, so thanks again guys. :thumbsup I much prefer this version to the closed mouth Audrey II.

Mine's sitting half finished for almost a year now. She's all painted, but I have to get the leaves and other greenery. Any hints as to where to get the right stuff?

Yeah, this has been sitting alongside my Fett helmet that I stopped work on 2-3 years ago! :lol

The leaves I used were latex cast leaves sculpted up by Sctcarts here on the RPF. The leaves I used round the head were from some foam plant from TK Max (nice and chunky - not a fan of the cloth leaves for this build):

Finished it off with some cloth petals (the purple/pink ones) from a fake rose that I painted with acrylic paint.

The moss I just pulled off a stone wall in the garden. :lol

Fred, regarding your question about foliage, here's what I used on the kits I did...with the 3 big leaves, I used the teeter's ivy wreath found at walmart. For the foliage around the head, I used white roses found at Michael's, painted to look more movie accurate. For the moss, I used a small bag of spanish moss found at walmart.

I live in NYC, so fortunately, or unfortunately (depending on your stance), I don't have a WalMart anywhere nearby.

Maybe I can make do with what they have at Michaels.

Well Beeb89 just posted in the thread, so he's definately still active. I don't believe that they are available any more, but I may be wrong.
