Attaching a Hinge with Fiberglass (Landspeeder Engine)?

I have a landspeeder engine that I'm tricking out to be a nice tabletop display. I want to use a piano hinge to allow it to open so you can see the engine inside. I don't want to use screws or rivets to attach the hinge to the two halves if I don't have to, so I was wondering if I could "glue" it in place with resin and fiberglass? Would this eventually crack from repeated movement?

You'd need distribute the stress out where the hinge mounts by doing a glassed in piece if wood or metal that runs the length of the hinged side. There are autobody panel adhesives that would let you bond a metal reinforcement piece to the fiberglass to then attach the hinge to. Really depends on how finished you want it to look.
