Still haven't heard back about my set.  It's been a while.  I wonder if they're backed up on orders.

I inquired about a helmet and he said he's backed up about three weeks.

Thanks guys for the colour tips.....SL3844....that Humbrol looks very close to the shade of the Testors....Kraig was right. :thumbsup

Clutch...I was perusing your tutorial in the archive and was just reading your painting details for the buttons..I'll have to use those tips...

DirtyDave....thanks for the tip re. Brak's CD....I'll have to shoot him a pm and ask if the ref CDs are still available....

GM...if there's a delay, shoot him an e-mail to inquire....he's typically very quick to respond.

KevVader–TE (Matt) stated that Testors 1138 Gloss is a dead-on match for the ANH helmet color scheme as he owned two original ANH helmets.

I checked my reciept for the deposit I sent. It's actually been 3 months. I shot him an e-mail yesterday. The reply I got today says they're backed up 3 weeks. So I guess they're backed up 3 months and 3 weeks.

*pouts*

It took a little while to get mine. I think it was about 4 months. Worth the wait though.

No worries. I don't mind waiting for a quality item like this, and I know how long it takes for some items like this to be produced. I just like to get an update if it's going to take longer than expected. That's all.

Again....shoot him an e-mail....he'll get back to you....

How does the AP kit compare in size to the FX? I know the FX kit is inaccurate, but I'm a bit bigger than the screen troopers, so I'm having to consider one. :unsure

Picture yourself an average starving actor/extra from '76... ;)

The AP is not a big armor. There are some 6-foot-plus 501st troopers who have successfully modded ANH-accurate armor into something wearable. I'm 6'1" with a 48" chest and 36" waist... don't even want to think about the extensive modding I'd have to do to make the AP fit.

If I ever get me the white stuff for trooping, FX seems to be the way to go... :unsure

Well, this kit was ultimately cast off an ANH helmet and ROTJ suit....seeing as how the Troopers on screen were roughly 5'10" - 5'11" and probably 160 - 180 lbs.....if you're much bigger than that, you'll look like a big guy squeezed into armor that's too small.
That said, I'm 6'4" and 250 lbs....I can corkscrew the helmet on but most of the armor pieces are a very tight fit. There are some bigger guys who wear TE armor which the AP kit is pretty much the same size as....and they've made it work. So with some shimming, it can happen....but you'll still look like a big guy squeezed into armor that is too small.

I'm 6'-0" and 175-180 lbs...depending on what I had for lunch :D . Here's what it looks like on me. I have to corkscrew the helmet on too, and I didn't have to mod any of the pieces.

My buddy has one and the thighs aren't very large. It must be just the way the pic was taken.

Looks great, BTW. I may have to get one, but I doubt it'd fit me. I'm 5'10", 220lbs.

I think the AP thighs are a bit smaller than the FX. I've had FX, RT and now AP armor, and the AP fits the best (for me) so far. RT stuff would be good for bigger guys. I think it's the angle of the photo. This was right after I got it finished, I had to put a little foam in the left shin to stop it from turning on me, and the shins needed to be pushed down for the pic too.
