Anyone own a Winlass Studios or Museum Replicas Iron Man helmet?

I don't own one, but I had one on pre-order until I read this review.

I have to agree with Michael Crawford and his review. I have seen the MK3 in person and that sucker tarnishes QUICK! I mean in days! I just ordered the MK1 and it should be here tomorrow. The good the about THAT helmet is the more jacked up, the better! :lol

The Helmets were poorly made. I pre-oder the MK2, but cancelled my order after I heard it was the same company that made the cyclops visor. I didn't want to take the risk of spending so much money on an item that may turn out to be horrible. I'm happy that I cancelled after looking at pictures.
IMHO, it seems like sideshow is loosing their touch. It seems like your taking a risk by ordering through them since their quality of their items have been going down hill. They are using really cheap paint for their items, or some of their items already come with paint defects. Plus, they have companies like winlass studios/museum replicas that sell so-so products for high prices.

:confused :confusedThis is so strange those looks strangly similar to oour earlier helmets.
Note the cheeks has the same unique flaw that we made on ours. The Ventilation shaft, the brow over the eyes is the same curve and the side of the helmet, even how we sculpted the mask making up with the ventilation shaft.. :confused D oyou got photos of the back?

Well i just thought some of the errors we did was in same areas of this version.
Also note the little notch on the cheek. Our first verison was also like that. Its sad to se a lincenced piece with same errors we did when we made ours. And they probably had some more reffrence than we did.

Oval vent shaft
Sides of cheeks curves and how it missmatch with the helmet mask as the original did.
Aslo the same error on the jaw the little notch. The sides of the helmet and how the lines follows.
Not saying it is but strangly carry similar flaws to some of our first verisons. Note we made 8 versions......

Hey TMP,
since ur the master of ironman suit , what do u think about this ?
I think this is a good helmet and i really like how good you chromed it in two colours. Really neat and nice.
When i get home i will se if i can find the photos of the verison i think the Windlass studio mask i compare to the same poits of error we first did. I think its the Version 3 or 4 version helmet we did.
The bellow is our latest and newest version. Version 8.

I couldn't really garner what was/is thought of the Ironman Museum Replicas from this thread.
Just posting this in case what wasn't thought too much of at 400-ish$ might look better when it's only 250$--actually 299$ with a 50$ gift cert.

Here are some pics of my windlass Mark 3 helmet...I don´t think it looks so bad..all the pics over the internet are bad and with wrong positions of the head.Wanna build lights in the eyes..so I think thats a great effekt.
The helmet is not 100% screenaccurate in shape,but for a full metall and brass made helmet it looks very good..ok,after some polish work with the kit in the box..;-):

The helmet is not 100% screenaccurate in shape,but for a full metall and brass made helmet it looks very good..ok,after some polish work with the kit in the box..;-):

From what I´ve seen,YES..but I never had a Mark 2 in my own hands.
Fact is,that they are different builds and not only other colours.Look at the brow over the eyes..its flat on the windlass MK2(wrong)..and curved(right)on the MK3.On the sideshow promopics from the MK3 the brow is inaccurate,too..but you see at my helmet..its right curved.
The prototype-pics on the sideshowsite are a joke.

Better late then never. I was actually Googling for info on this helmet when the search uncovered this post. I decided to take pictures from at least 6 feet away and they look pretty good. Anyway, just in case you didn't see what you wanted yet. I need a white bounce in front too but I don't have that in my home.
