Anybody ever seen any plans?

To the best of my knowledge: the Disney Art Department produced drawings and plans for most props used in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but not the diving gear.

Have any of you replicators out there ever come across any drawings or plans for the diving helmets, regulator fairings, and such?

Pat, you may want to change your thread title to be a bit more specific than just "Anybody ever seen plans?". I myself see "plans" every day, since I am an architect, Londoners see plans for the tube every day, R2-unit carry around plans for a Death Star on a regular basis and so on and so forth

To answer your question, no, unfortunately not, but since I love the old Disney movie I´d love to see plans for that particular piece of movie history myself

I've been researching the Disney helmets for a while, and I am of the impression that there were never any actual Disney "drawings" or "plans", per se; but when meeting a new group of artists: I always ask, just in case. (If anyone else knows otherwise, please tell me!)

I finished my first replica Nemo helmet in 2002, and since then I have come into a lot of better documentation than I had when I started; so at this point the subsequent replicas I've made have improved in accuracy with respect to the original Nemo, Crowntop, and Baldy. I've got two metal and three fiberglass replicas underway; one more metal helmet that's untouched; and I think that's all I'm ever going to do. Still, trying to make them as good as they can be.

If nothing else, at some point in the future I'll make my plans and templates available for those that are interested in this sort of thing. Won't exactly be "Disney", but they are definitely "Honest To Goff", because I used his documentation (a lucky acquisition) to produce them. Hopefully. someone will find 'em useful.
