Anybody an expery on military gear or webbing?

Thanks. The photo they have has more stitched in the weave and looks like it was done on a modern needle loom (woven on one edge, braided on the other), but even so, I asked them for a sample last week. :)

I've found plenty of suppliers of 1" wide webbing, the trick is to find someone that weaves it like it was 50 or so years ago, or to find a vintage roll.

My regular sources are OFFRAY, Bally Ribbon Mills, and National Webbing. National Webbing will probably have the same weave Lea & Sachs has.

I think building a time machine migh make the search easier... in the meantime I'll check our store room, we have a lot of old stock and lots of good greeblie resources as well...

Thanks again. Bally didn't have anything on hand that matched, but they were capable of making it with a HUGE production run.

Yeah, the white 1' MIL-W-530 in the sewing room is made by Calco (Canada), it's older stock, but it looks identical to the Lea & Sachs. I think it might be to thin to replicate the bag webbing you have.

I do have rolls of 1.5" tan in the older style thicker weave.

Depending on the length you need, these might suffice...British Enfield White Web Parade Sling - International Military Antiques

In my experence rifle slings are 1" wide...

Thanks for checking.

Great find on the slings! Those British slings look like the might have cording woven into the edges. In any event, even f the right width, there are too many stitches in the center section. (I'm looking for 14 pairs across, minimum 42" lengths.)

Even though I can't use the UK slings, it's sort of a rush to find out about stashes of NOS existing, of anything. Now there's the time machine you were talking about...
