Hi, have any UK members gained VCR exemption just to build prop guns and did you go the air soft route? I'm planning to build some nice E-11 blasters using as many genuine Sterling parts as i can find, and the last thing i need is the police to beat down my door last thing at night to be led away in handcuffs just for making some toy guns:wacko

What i have done with my sterlings was to purchase 2 deact sterlings with the newer deact specifications it is illigal to alter it to fire again but not to purchase/own deact guns, obviously dont carry it around in public.

the trouble is I'm a Sterling collector and i hate to mess around with one of my guns, so I'd like to make one from scratch. I would also need to change the barrel which is illegal to do on a deact.:unsure

unless someone is selling parts on here the best thing is to get a barrel made from scratch that way you could get away with it esp if it is made from alluminium. as the barrels are made from steel. Ive seen quite a few photos of sterlings that people have had made up from replica parts.
