It is on display until the end of this week in Berlin, Germany. The level of detail on Saurons Armour is unbelievable ! The carved detailing in the armour is IIRC hardly visible in the video.

Unfortunately, photos weren´t allowed at the exhibit.

Sith-Camero made a great Sauron a few years back. You should see if any of his old threads are around.

I had the distict pleasure of watching them make Saurons armour for the film. 3 to 4 guys forging metal, drawing out patterns, and acid etching the metal on site at Weta. It was truely one of the great moments in my career. These guys really knew how to work the materials.


My only regret is that I didnt take pictures, not because I didnt want to, but because contractually I was forbid to. Oh well.

Hands down, the most fantastic and intricately fashioned suit of armour ever constructed for real. Astounding. I eagerly await the opportunity to see the work of a craftsman who endeavours to make a reproduction of it. Great and worthy project to take on.
