Anovos Han Solo Rig vs MP

I was having trouble already with the buckles on my MP belt, then one got lost somewhere between a Halloween party and home. I was looking for a replacement when Anovos actually got the Han Solo belt back in stock so I bit the bullet and ordered one.

It arrived tonight, so I thought I'd do a side by side.

Before I start, I do want to say: I think these are both great belts. If you own one of them, there's no need to be jealous of the other. I never tried to get Rebel Legion approval with my Han, but I can't imagine either belt having trouble getting approved, as long as you get a decent fit.


SO first off, as usual, Anovos packaging doesn't disappoint. The whole rig came nicely boxed:




Right off the bat, Anovos wins on buckles. These look like nicely made buckles and a good width Vs the MP buckles which are held together with liquid weld

Side by side, the MP belt is darker. I don't know which is more accurate.


They are comparable thickness. MP feels SLIGHTLY thicker to me, but Anovos actually looks thicker in photos. I think both are just illusions. ANovos looks thicker in photos because it's lighter color, but MP is more stiff, not as soft as Anovos so it feels a bit beefier, even though they do appear to be similar thickness.

FIT: Got lucky that the Anovos fits me pretty well. I ordered medium (I wear 36-30 jeans) Both are adjustable, but MP is made to fit so you know it's the right size.

Others have posted photos of these, but I figured I'd include them for fun.

The droid caller is nice. Here it is next to a Kobold:



Also, the Anovos droid caller fits really nice into the belt holder. Snaps right in. With the MP it was always a little loose. I had to put a little velcro sticker on it to make sure I never lost my droid caller.

For this is used Boba Debt ESB.

It actually fit JUUUUUUUUUST a bit better in the MP. It's a little snug for my taste in the Anovos holster, but when snapped they both sit about the same.




Overall, they are both good belts. As you can see form the photos, some good craftmanship. I don't know which is more accurate, but the color of the MP belt seems a bit closer to me. The Anovos has nice accessories and much better buckles.

Great comparison!

I have seen some people mentioned their distaste for the cap on the anovos holster, but it seems to be accurate to at least the ROTJ holster that goes on display from time to time.
