Another new tricorder for the collection

For those of you who thought I was only good for starting weird threads in the OT, here's some proof that I'm still collecting.

Just today, this baby arrived in the mail:

tric_b.jpg

Full electronics Mark X Medical DS9 version. Working medical scanner with lights and sound also. not pictured.

I think all that remains for me is the Mark X science from DS9, a couple endgame tricorders, and the Nemesis "PDA" tricorder and I'm all done. Woohoo.

Looks very nice, and I am very jealous... *stares at his toy tricorder with disgust* haha

Matt, as a fellow Trek collector, let me just say that your collection is mind-numbing.

Tricorders are definitely my favorite of Trek props, especially when they're hero versions. And while I'm still a sucker for the MVII, the MX is probably my top choice.

Any chance we could see shots of the back panel and scanner?

Very nice, Matt.

But if that's the medical version, shouldn't the graphics be different? You know, showing the stylized view of the human body and stuff?

I actually recall seeing Bashir using a Medical MX w/Science graphics. I thought it was strange at first, but with all the variations of the MX alone, I'm not too surprised this version made it into the show.

Yah, Kidl is correct. There was indeed a DS9 medical version with science graphics. The same thing appeared in Insurrection, IIRC.

Those wacky tricorder kids were all over the map as far as graphics and lighting schemes go. Makes tracking down all of the variants a bit difficult. I'm still on the fence about getting a "mark IX", which as far as I can tell is identical to the mark X, save for the model number in the lower right hand corner.

The best news for me is that there may actually come a day soon where I can have them all on display. TNG through ENT tricorders/scanners. I may pick up a TOS MR tricorder, but I'm not really a fan of any of the pre TNG cast movies, so I may avoid those. not sure.
