It started as a thing I just wanted to have and was soon followed by making some for friends.

Turned out great!

I always wanted to do some electronic kits for these!

Good job!

Awesome!!

I'm trying to wrap my head around what's going on with the molds sandwiched between the cups, it looks like you used some fancypants knowledge for a lot of this project.

Are you setting it up so there's a good amount of pressure for casting the fisheye lenses?

I love the bezel "arbor" for the lathe, too! How are you parting them off? Are you just coming at them at a 90° angle with a regular parting blade?

Really great work, Flimzy! I hope things are good with you!

Awesome!!
Ha no it's not that fancy :) I found the mono cups the perfect size for the parts so I laser cut a tempoary base plate with registration tab and PVA the part to it, hot glue the cut over it and fill it up.

Then when one side has cured I flip it over remove the laser cut disc glue another cup on and fill away ( remembering to use mold release :) )

as the lenses are glad ie solid I can degas after poring and them into the pressure pot for good measure. the filling I do by drilling a hole with K&S to fit a plastic straw that I inject the resin in.

You're killing it. I wanted it as a door bell since I saw the movie jeje
thanks for sharing your blue prints, i'll definitely get to it some day now

Throw a RaspberryPi in there and a camera.. and have a real/live video feed.

or add an RFID reader to make it open a door/play audio..etc..

and any kind of sensors you want.. :)

Too bad there wasnt a 'text to speech' in that voice!! LOL

I was going to put SAL on one but then looked at a picture of her only to see she is completely different. 4 have gone off to friends already hope they like them.
There are definitely challenges to making multiples at home each one has it's own little difference that maybe only I would notice. Anyway project over moving on.
