Another AFB Obi cut-away from Howard.

Yeah, I know - this is getting old! :lol

Here's my latest Obi ANH AFB cut-away, built for a member here.
Usual lighting, hidden switches, lab grown diamond for the emitter crystal, quartz for the primary, batteries are easily changed.
This was made primarily from a Parks so it's all metal apart from the plastic handwheel. Detailing's mainly found items - again mostly metal.
This build took a LONG time due to my time taken up looking after my little girl.

I consulted the client concerning the position of the emitter crystal on this build, as I thought it would be interesting to position it actually in the emitter, rather than in the body as before - it kinda made sense to have the crystal up there, and the three points of light along the saber really improve the overall look I think.

Just a few things left to do such as polishing and dusting - macro photography really shows up the dust!
Here's a few pics.

Oh, next up, a Victorian Trek Phaser, and possibly Communicator.

Thanks for looking.

It definitely doesn't!

I never get tired of seeing your cutaway sabers Howard. They set the bar for how it should be done.

your easily one of the most talented people on this board. i would hate to think how much these things go for.

well done, again.

Howard,

That is beautiful!

I'm sure that this was expensive, so I won't even waste your time inquiring about the price, but I'm sure it was worth every penny.

The artistry and skill put into this is obvious from the breathtaking results.

Please don't hesitate to share pics like this in the future. Especially when you finish a victorian phaser! I can't wait.

Thanks.

Howard it never gets old seeing your works of art!

BEAUTIFUL!

Gentlemen, many thanks indeed for your kind words of praise - they honestly mean a great deal to me, and make builds like this all the more worthwhile. :thumbsup

Wow. As always you do amazing work! Please get me the details and let me know if you had any questions about my pm. It was sent from my phone so hopefully it went through. Thanks again Howard.

What I'd really like to see you make now is something like this but whole. Have it expand and open to view the insides (if you'd seen the luke ROTJ supposed prop floating around). That would be awesome. I don't think I've seen anyone else make something like that. Anyway it's on my wishlist if you decide you're ever interested in the project. ;-)

Hi Joshua,

I've sent two emails with pictures - they should be with you now.
Regards the Luke ROTJ.
Yes, I know that saber well - it's a complete work of art by any standards. I'd love to replicate it, one day...

You know I'm patient, I'll be waiting. =) If nothing else just to see it.

That looks really cool! I don't know if I'll ever buy eFx's "Extreme" sabers (which are very much like your cutaways). I doubt that they can make anything as detailed...

Another excellent and inventive job!

Like your last one, it seems you used watch & camera parts here too.

The ribbon-cable & flexible circuit wiring make it all fit together.

How about doing a blaster?
