ANH Vader Helmet- Origin?

Anyone know where this might have originated? All ANH Vaders look alike to me...

Very weird looking helmet, to be sure. Not to mention the funky molding.

Just a hunch but the faceplate seems derived/modified from a DP CA. Whatever it's from, it's much smaller in proportion to the helmet than it should be. This suggests two different sources for the faceplate and the helmet. The helmet has the proper asymmetry in the eyebrow flaring so it's not a custom sculpt.... but it has been modified from something because it's not really accurate. It could have been modified from a VM helmet...just the helmet (some call it a dome), not the faceplate. What's puzzling is that for the faceplate to be that much smaller than the helmet, I would (edit) NOT suspect a DP faceplate as a source because they are a better size (larger). Yet, the noseslot profile/smoothness indicates a DP source as well for the faceplate. It's a strange mix for sure ....not a bad looking helmet actually...but not a pinnacle of accuracy either .

IIRC I think the faceplate is a modified DPCA and the dome is a custom sculpt - the faceplate appears smaller because these domes are very big - I previously owned one.

I've met the guy who made this at one of the Disney 501st SW weekends three/four years back.

I'm pretty sure they used a DP Dlx face along with a dome froma Rubies Statue but could be wrong. I think there are a couple of pics of their stuff on my site

Excuse me... GundamZeppelin just showed a picture of one of their kits... and that's clearly a DP CA with the T-shaped dome mount.
