Vader is always a WIP, but I am so close with this I thought I would post it here. Had a chance to finally put on all the parts I have been working on to get some pictures. This is the first one that is ready to show.

Had a lot of advice from the folks on The Prop Den to get it to this stage. Thanks to everyone there!

As I said on the Den Jon, looks great (y)thumbsup

Once you get those updated robes/Cape that you want it should make all the difference.

I like the actual picture additionally. Nice...

Bloody hell :eek

Great looking ANH Vader there Mate, one of the best I've seen:thumbsup

Cheers,

Kraig

wow man... that picture looks brilliant... how'd you do the fog? excellent costume! :thumbsup... its like ANH vader stepping into ESB.

Thanks for the comments.

Fog is done in Photoshop - took me three different tutorials before I found one that worked to create the effect I was after. :rolleyes

hmm, where did you find the tutorial? I'd like to know how to do that :thumbsup

do you use CS2 or CS3?
Using CS3. To be honest I just Googled Photoshop smoke and tried a few. They all seem to have a slightly different approach and look to them. I actually ended up doing something a little different than the tutorial I was following because it did not achieve the effect I was after. I still think it could have turned out better, but I was running out of time.

Looking great! My only advice is for you to put some foam inside so your helmet is raised a bit up and tilted a bit forwards. The helmet rest to much on your shoulders and it make the proportions of the costume wrong.

If you do that and try to find a perfect foam size to make it perfect i am sure the photos and proportions will look even better :)

AGAIN.. GREAT!

Thanks TMP. Might be able to go a bit more forward with the helmet, but I already have so much foam in the top of this that if I used much more I would be looking out the mouth grill :lol

Perhaps if I lower the armor a little? It is lined with foam to get it to sit up (and to be more comfortable).

Oh, and in the second picture the photographer had me looking up as much as I could (which was not a lot), which is make the dome sit more on the shoulders than it actually does...

Well the ANH mask is higher on the inside compared to the other version that has a higher raise on top of the mask. But if you get good straps to hold it close to your face and be able to lift up and angle the face more forwards i think it will look great on you. Its always nice to have someone with you who know star wars when you take photos to adjust and finetune when you do photos like that. Again great costume :)

Thanks TMP. Always appreciate your advice - I know you have the look down.

Yeah, tough finding someone who knows how it should look when photographing it - and too hard to adjust it myself when it is on. I am seriously considering putting the costume on someone else next time, so I can get the look right for the pictures.
