Amazing Spiderman Putting together your Suit

So after reading the many many threads on people getting their prints and stitching them up, and whatever they decide to do with it after, I thought it would be a good idea to make a Thread that we can all post our ideas but are unsure of how to do it and through here you will get your answer.

For example, when I get my print I want to make the gloves, boots and mask removable. Now, I have ideas on how to do it, but I'm sure there are many of you who have better ideas on how to accomplish this.

That's the point of this thread. Post what you would like to do with your print, and then others can post solutions on how they can complete that task. :)
Alright hope it works!

What I want to do is be able to get the suit on and off, pretty easily, with the least amount of zippers. I was thinking about having a zipper wrapping around the back belt. What do you think?

I like the idea! As a newbie, I do not have any tips or tricks so I can't contribute, but I have moral support! I'm definitely bookmarking (subscribing? haha) this page!

I think the zipper that Nick and Aris mentioned is the quickest way to do it, i'm pretty sure you'd be able to get it on and off really quickly.

It wont work......say for instance your shoulders are 38" wide and your waist is 34, no matter how much of a contortionist you are it will be damn near impossible and you risk ripping the suit.

Nick really does know what hes talking about.....you can do a zipper straight up the back, have two zippers that come down under the arms and go under the belt or you can have zipper that goes up the side of the head and come across one shoulder. Those are the only options I know of.

Hmmm I'll have to see what other people do.
My next question is, how should I remove the gloves and mainly boots and add a zipper to them? or no zipper

id like to know these things as well as i plan on getting a suit print asap
So then this thread may actually work, Awesome! :) Feel free to ask your own questions, I just started it off. I want anyone to ask things if they have questions

I've thought of removable parts on a suit like this and I was thinking on how to allow the cut out parts to retain their shape. Maybe adding an elastic underneath the edges may allow them to look like they haven't been cut off? That's something I wanted to try for the mask in order to have a good removable mask that did not show the gap between the cut materials. (Hope this makes at least some sense.)

Yeah, I'm trying to think of my own solution. Did you notice in the movie, every time he puts on the mask, the camera turns away lol That drops my hope level wayyy down

Hi, I'm Diego, and I'm new on the board, I've been reading a lot and been through lots of posts and pictures, I also plan on making a build of T ASM costume, I want to make it as acurate as possible, although I will be making it through screen printing process since I've never done anything Dye-subbed. and there are not that much places i know where they could handle the size of the print. anyways I will provide more information or my progress in the future, what I was thinking on my costume is to have boots and mask removable, I got used to the idea of having the gloves sewn up, but i look forward on something to add that extra "independence?" to the suit haha, now for the mask i thought of adding extra fabric to the neck and then cutting some sort of pin holes all around and then adding somethig attachable to them on the mask, like some really thin metal that you slip on the holes and voilà!

Personally, i love the pit to hip type zipper. It's easy to put the costume on without any help. I'm not sure how you'll be able to make the ASM gloves removable since the ASM gloves have the stripes attaching them to the blue of the arm. You'd probably need two prints to work it out.

Guys, I want to ask something about Taylor's print once I am on the second run and waiting for the suit. Taylor says that his pattern isn't specifically designed to hide the seams. Is it possible to cover the seams at an adequate level with the puffy paint ??

No, for the very reason he mentioned.

Had the pattern been designed to hide the seams, then the seams would correspond to places where webbing would be drawn over later, much like MCL34N's or the movie suit.

Using puff paint on a seam where there isn't supposed to be any webbing would arguably make the seam MORE noticeable, not less.

Thanks Nick for the information! I was talking about seams that there is webbing on them.

does any body dislike the idea of using the stripes of magnet that the fridges got to get well closed? (btw, has anybody checked at them? XD

You can open a fridge and cut the rubber that keeps the door closed. The magnet inside used to be "maleable" or flexible magnet. (I checked years ago). So this will be usefull to be sewed under the edge of the removable mask. (obv. also magnet on the neck)

If any has checked, let me know. I will probably go this way with mine, but must check first if its possible once taylor's suit recieved.

A lot of the seams can be hidden in the webbing actually. But like Aris said, it wasn't specifically designed for that, like MCL34N's. Personally I don't mind a few visible seams, after all TASM suit isn't supposed to look as "perfect" as the Raimi suit. And like Nick said, the pattern is extremely busy, especially if you're using the puff paint!

Thanks guys for illuminating me, about something that I wanted to know! I agree with Taylor and Nick that the pattern is extremely busy, so no one will care about the seams! And yes, I am planning to use puff paint to make the suit look more realistic! Thanks again guys!
