Hi guys, I just finished my flame thrower units, I have the pattern for the shirt but can anyone help with a pattern for the pants, I have a comic con comming up in November and are desperately trying to get the uniform made, the shirt is easy but I am in desperate need for a pattern for the pants, can anyone help me with this

Well, I don't think you'll find any complete patterns in this thread, but still excellent for reference - Alien Nostromo Uniforms

Given you're in a rush, you could go for the quick and dirty route like I did, of just buying some Portwest Painters Trousers and modifying those.

If I was gonna do this again, I'd buy a 2nd set of the same in the shorts version and remove the pockets from those to add onto the trousers.
That said, I'm not likely to do anymore with my Portwests, as having now bought one of NostromoCrew 's excellent shirts, I'd rather get a pair of his also excellent trousers to go with.

It’ll be less in the long run to get the right pants up front. Otherwise you’ll get something else and end up with Adams pants in the end anyway.

Hi guys, finally finished my Nostromo costume, been a hard slog, sewing is definitely not my thing, but here are the pics, send some feed back, cheers Andrew

Looking good.:cool:(y)(y) You could try to find a darker T-shirt; that's what members are doing, generally, trying to match as close as possible the color seen in the movie.;)

It's a REALLY difficult colour to match. 'Pistachio' (often quoted) is very often too light for how they appear on screen. 'Olive' or 'Olive Drab' and other 'army' greens are too dark and not the right shade of green. It seems to fall right in between!

The closest I've found so far in the UK is a Gildan tee-shirt. The colour is 'Kiwi'. As it comes, the green is a pretty good tonal match, but the colour is too saturated. Giving it a machine wash with 1/4 cup of bleach added to the water fades it to something more like the originals, I think.

I have theorized that taking an issued olive T-shirt and bleaching it might produce the color, if you were lucky...

Because I agree it is an unusual color and the (deliberate) lighting choices for the movie make it extra-difficult to pin down colors.

I've actually tried that with two separate olive tees, and both ended up to far towards the khaki/yellow side. Nice colour, but not right! :D The originals, I think, have a more 'true green' colour but very desaturated.

Rogue 1 The closest color I found is Inspired Dye by Next Level; Clover. They are available online.

Comparison to what others have previously chosen. Avocado is way too light. I used Kiwi til I found Clover.

Pistachio and avacado have been a running debate for a while.

I like the pistachio better but have an avacado shirt…

It comes down to the deliberately horrible lighting on set. Stage lights incandescent and fluorescent lighting used, all with a color cast.

So, I don’t think either color is “right” but both approximate the appearance in different scenes.

Yes lighting on the film set makes it hard, it's like the Tie fighter in star wars, they were painted Pactra stormy sea blue but under all the studio lighting the blue values were washed out and they appeared grey

I got a sort of pistachio and used a teensy bit of gray dye as an overwash to make it a less bright green. I like it, a few washes has helped with putting a used "not new" cast to the color.
