Alien maquette

Hey guys.
This is the first thing I've painted in a while.
It's the same as the Sideshow piece only reposed.
I was lucky to get it in kit form.
There are a few things left to do but it's just about finished.
Then I need to find a place to put it!!

Damn Larry, that is bad ass!

The repose looks a million times better than the original pose.

I'll tell you where you can put it...MY HOUSE!

You need to post this over at The Hive. They'd love it.

for some reason..winter brings out your best work larry...

i told you....hang it upside down on the ceiling

you have no more room.

Would you mind re shooting these pictures, but have a proper light added to it, without any flash at all? I really think it'd show your work better if proper lit and shot...

Nope, it's facing the right way.

It's meant to look more like a stinger when it arches it up over it's back.

I hate to be argumentative about this and draw attention to it since Larry is a friend, but it IS upside down.

I worked for ADI on and off for almost 10 years. I have dozens of photos of the ADI suits. Not to mention the fact that I've repaired the shop display copy of the A3 rod puppet/maquette and the full size A3 display, as well as a maquette copy that was given as a gift to John Fasano (A3 writer). I can't post pics from the shop, but go to the Sideshow website and look at the maquette pics if you want further proof. The tail tip should face DOWN and away from the top of the tail vertabrae. We did the same thing on A4 and AVP as well.

It was not meant to look like a stinger, in the sense that you mention, on any of the ADI versions.

I appreciate you pointing this out Steve.
If anyone knows Aliens it's you!
I think if you got cut you would bleed acid! :p
My problem is it's glued and pinned so I'll
have to take a hacksaw to it.
I actually checked my Burnett maquette to see which way
it went before I glued it on....his is upside down too!
Now I have to fix two of them.
I'm just glad there's no hair to flock!
Thanks and thanks again for all the nice comments guys.

Larry
