Finally got around to seeing this. It reminded me of nothing more than "Primer," but about A.I.s instead of time travel. Maybe not a fair comparison, since Primer was a total mindf-k, and Ex Machina is fairly linear.

I recommend it. It had some interesting twists and turns that I wasn't expecting (except in retrospect, where they make sense). Oscar Isaac is great as the genius billionaire (and possible psychopath?) Nathan.

finally saw it and I thought the movie was amazing, very well done and loved the twist at the end.

And I think the moral of the movie is , Ava is no different from typical hot sexy female human mentality. She will manipulate you, then after she is done using you (the nerd) , she will leave and break your heart.

ultimate proof she is more than just some algorithms. thought the movie was great.

Kinda artsy fartsie and a little slow. I give it thumbs up for a rental. Thumbs down if you pay full price in a theater. Having dealt with a few billionaires over the years, the rich dude was payed well.

I saw it a while ago. It was pretty good. For some odd reason, I thought of A Clockwork Orange, I don't know why.

The only real letdown was the CG stabbing at the end. The knife went into him like he was made of soft tofu.

Maybe the reason why it went into him so easily is the fact that he was being stabbed by an android? I mean, we don't know what they're strength is like, but we at least get an idea (as we see in footage from one of the past ones where one of the androids, rapidly banging its fists against the door to the point where its hands and arms shattered). But that's just how I took it.

I thought of that but, with a slow stab, the victim should have some natural recoil - even a protective reflex. In any case it only made the CG stand out as CG.

Just watched this movie, and it had me riveted throughout.

I will say that I saw Ava manipulating him throughout the entire process.

Also... Sweet Merciful Zeus Alicia Vikander has an amazing set of calves! (Sorry, that's my weakness...)

Finally got around to watching this, primaily due to Oscar Isaac being in TFA. Great movie! Really enjoyed it!
