airsoft/denix question - are the bullets the same size?

Ihave a friend of mine who wants to get a gas powered revolver, and he wants to use some of my "underworld" bullets I made in it.

The only problem is, I dunno if the revolvers would handle the bullet size correctly.

The other option is a denix, since he is somewhat hesitant to go the blank gun route.

So... anyone with a denix or an airsoft revolver know if regular "normal" bullets would fit in there?

(yes the bullets will be non functional)

Thanks.

I am leaning towards the same conclusion :(

I just hate the idea that I have to email tons of sellers of denix and airsoft pistols and ask em "Can I load a real .357 or .45 into this replica? I'm not gonna fire it, seriously." :lol

Lord I can imagine the :eek :confused and :confused looks already.

If anyone has a denix revolver, or has an airsoft gun (be it revolver or automatic), and you have the ability to put a bullet in it, can you please check and let me know?

Thanks guys and gals

Even if the dummy round won't fit into the barrel/chamber/cylinder, can't you just bore it out so it does fit?

No way to bore the holes. I have a dremel and a drill, but no press or lathe or stand to really hold 'er in place.

i bough 3 different airsoft guns in the last week for prop conversions. all three fire 6mm bbs, and the barrels are all fitted pretty close to that.

so unless your bullets are only 6mm in diameter, i don't think so :)

the silver tube there is where the ammo flies through, if that helps at all.

What's the make/model of the gas pistol your friend has? I'm sure one of the many airsoft sites out there could tell you the sizes of the BB Casings. This is all assuming your friend has a revolver that uses shells, and not just a magazine type clip.

Heh heh... hydin was talking about the Airsoft revolvers and whether the cylinder could house full sized ammo casings.
I used to own a .357 Airsoft revolver and that was able to house live ammo rounds. I only know this because at the time I also had a collection of various Deactivated ammo rounds ...from .22's to .50 cal for the Desert Eagle.. All now sold on though now.. including that old airsoft...

No It most likley wont fit in an airsoft revolver barrel(duh haha), but with modifications I sure it would. And I'm pretty sure it'll fit in the cylinder, but you'd better ask the dealers.

most current airsoft are of spec to real ammo. Back in the 80's, one of the manufacturers came out with one that would actually fit a 41 magnum and you can imagine the results. The airsoft model was recalled and since then as far as I know, most will not fit any live ammo

Thanks for the tips guys.

I am going to spam a lot of ebay sellers and see what I can come up with. Maybe I will get lucky and a little springer gun will be able to hold em :)

Unfortunately, no. I own a .357 magnum airsoft, which I turned into Boba Fett's rifle. The 6mm bullets are cased in real looking shells, which houses four 6mm pellets on each shell. I got an assortment of bullet shells ranging from .22 to.50, including several .357 shells. Of course, spotting these, I tried them in my Fett rifle, which can fire the 6mm pellets. Anyway, the real .357 shells did not fit in, the cylynder holes were too small. I guess that the manufacturers wanted to make sure that the weapon could not be easily converted into firing real bullets, which, wich mostly plastic gun, would be insane. There are spare bullets for the airsoft .357 that I could buy, but have not needed to as of yet. My .357 airsoft is of Japanese made, though I don't remember from which company, surely not Marui, maybe KWC. I threw away the original boxes after my conversion job, as the now-rifle had no need for them.
