Agent Carter

I know, it just makes no sense. Hollywood - Angie's an actor, she's the perfect goto/cover for Peggy investigating foreign gents posing as actors, plus they spent so long building up the relationship and trust between then it seems like a waste.

Oh believe me, I thought the exact same thing.

I know (according to their twitter accounts) that both actresses are up for it, but there are some strange people that think Sousa is a suitable match for Peggy.

Well we know that Peggy eventually gets married, so unless the Marvel Cinematic Universe is VASTLY more progressive and liberal than our own, Cartinelli wouldn't last.

What a great opener! Glad to see Peggy back in the thick of things. Some decent fights and story line.

So I assume that the zero matter is the same stuff from Agents of SHIELD?

Laters,
Jeff

In AoS, it goes liquid very rarely and then opens the portal to the other planet.

Here, the gateway opened, sucked in everything, and left the liquid which has stayed liquid since as far as we know. On top of that, didn't Boothe's character say they had those smaller solid versions for centuries? Perhaps it's the anti-version of the rock?

My roommate and I were watching last night, and as soon as we saw it, I looked at her and went "Did I just see what I thought I saw?" and she goes "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was what I thought I saw, too."

Whatever that zero matter is I'd say that it's definitely related to the obelisk in AoS in some way because the people behind it are Hydra, or related to Hydra. Yes, there's no Hydra logos anywhere but the logo on the lapel pins they wear are the exact as the logo used for that NASA mission through the portal, the same logo that's a derivative or predecessor to the Hydra logo.

Second season off to a good start.
My only quibble is that it's a year too late for a transdimentional-black-goo origin story. It would've worked better if this had come before the second half of the previous season of AoS.

I am so digging me some Agent Carter.

And not to lie, I could watch a whole series on young Howard Stark also.

Apparently, Agent Carter hasn't been doing so hot in the ratings. TVBytheNumbers thinks it unlikely to get a 3rd season, which strikes me as a real shame because it's a LOT of fun.

To be honest, I'm not really digging it as much as I was in the first season, but I was hoping this show was going to get to the Peggy Carter that started S,H,I,E,L,D, That's what I want to see, the Peggy Carter following the One-Shot. Watching Carter as an agent really doesn't interest me that much.

I would expect that there's really no intention of doing that. You'd be much more likely to see that in flashbacks either in the Marvel films, or in Agents of SHIELD itself.

I must say that Hayley Atwell has been an absolute treasure since her appearance in Captain America. It warms my heart the lengths Marvel/Disney has gone through to keep her presence in the MCU. It was also great to see her poignant performance as the mother in Cinderella.

Last week my cable box rebooted while I was watching the last episode on demand. I missed everything right after Carter is attacked while punching the punching bag. The stupid TWC On Demand won't let you fast forward that show so I'm not sitting through the entire episode again. Can someone fill me in? I think I only missed 5 mins. or so. I can't even watch it on their website even though it's a week later!

It's about 10 mins, prepare your inner head reel and imagine the scenes:

Jarvis was just bidding Carter good night, as the assassin with the black balaclava dropped in and tried to choke Peggy from behind to death. She was lifted into the air, due to her small stature and couldn't get a foot on the ground, struggling to free herself, as she stroke a surprise right elbow blow into the face of the perp. But he was resilient, still on the his feet, she elbowed him again, they shuffled back a few steps towards the lighted pool. Still ringing for air and ground, she could tip toe with her right foot and pushed themself into. She swims to the left corner of the pool, crawling out of it, while the assassin does the same from the middle and whacks Peggy with the wooden part of the poolnet, which he grabbed in front of him. A kick in her stomach was shoved right after that left her stunned for the second - he pulls a knife out of his pocket, as Jarvis hit him at the back with a dumbell. Jarvis swung an unsuccessful second attempt, the assasin ducked right in time and placed a jab to Jarvis' solar plexus. He fell, turned aorund and the assassin was about to strike with the knife. Jarvis' reflexes were fast enough to counteract against the stab, grabbed his right arm and threw him with the Judo throw. Peggy, who recuperated from the kick, crawled to the bench, the assassin tries to shoot Peggy with a gun pulled from his holster, but was dumbfolded as his gun choked. This gave Peggy the needed seconds to get her own gun out of her handbag on the bench and shot his gun away, she deterred him with three further shots in his direction and fled from the premises. Tired from the the fight, Peggy was arching down, coughing; Jarvis raced to her and asked about her well-being, while help her up. Later, next morning, we see Jarvis on a ladder installing a security camera in the hallway leading to the pool. Carter greets him good morning, and he, with a relieved look on his face asks her again about her well being and her throat. She confidently assured him that she feels reinvigorated, stating that they were on the right track and that Whitney Frost acted rashily, while they won't do this mistake. She asks about the camera, Jarvis demonstrated the "improved security measures" by opening the door to the pool, which triggered a rather awkward recorded warning from him, leaving Carter to express a sarcastic "terrifiying" :lol . Jarvis tries to save face, saying that it was a temporary measure.

Peggy, entering the lab of Howard to check on the progress of Jason Wilkes' materialization, was energetic as ever, Howard didn't slept the night at all, keeping him awake with strong coffee and was about to leave for Peru, where he tries to reach his old prof Abner Brody on consulting how get Jason back, since he's an expert on sub-atomic and gravitational physics. Peggy and Jason chatted about the work night, when he was very impressed with Howard's geniuses and generosity, that he invited a stranger (playing on the black theme being shunnded from society). Peggy confirms that Howards is a good friend and apologizes to Wilkes of putting him in danger in the first place, where she should have retrieved the Zero Matter. Jason relieved her of her guilt, that it was his work and his lab and who else would be better qualified to the job. In the same sentence, he told her, that he can't stay at Stark's, putting all in danger, who tried to help him. Peggy, slightly aghast, that he can't do that and that everyone needs him (well, she needs him more than anyone ;) ), if they want to get Whitney Frost. She demanded firmly from Wilkes to stay and offered her being informal on their first name. He agrees to both and she left him at the lab going to the SSR branch.

Carter in the office of Sousa, showed him the strangulation marks, which made him a bit concerned, but she dismissed of additional protection, asking him what further details he could dug out from Isodyne. He found out, that Agnes Cully from Oklahoma (a genius herself, comparing to the french chemist Marie Curie) used the alias of Whitney Frost, working secretly for Isodyne that put the company on the map during the war and that the radio frequency modulator, to scramble messages across enemy lines, was her idea (a hommage to the real life inventor and actress Lamarr Headey).

Thompson, who met with Vernon at the Arena Club, are meeting Calvin Chadwick, the husband of Whitney. Chadwick thanks him for handing over the tape of Zero Matter, which Thompson reluctanly accepts, Vernon remarks that he's going to be senator and hands him over the future newspaper, Peggy was speaking of, that left him speechless, but he didn't let the others notice. The three toasting on the accomplishments with Thompson left more in doubt, if he had done the right thing.

Cut to Whitney in her make-up room: she gets a visit by her producer/manager Ken, who's got the hots for her, but hid from her for a certain time. He tried to get close to her by saying TPTB wanted a new fresh face, but he denied their request. He gets a bit agressive on her and sees her black zero matter streak on her forehead, asking he what happend. She appeased him, that it was nothing, enraged, he countered that it was not nothing. Fearing of exposure, Whitney grabbed his arm and the Zero Matter crawled through his arm and out of his mouth devouring him, while she watches in terror what enfoldes before her eyes. The Zero Matter receded inside her right hand. Shocked about the incident, she looked into the mirror, seeing that the streak is growing larger. THE END.
