Man...

I saw this a few days ago, and holy crap this was a creepy movie.

I hadn't heard much about it, which was odd considering that it has Liam Neeson and Christina Ricci in it.

Not gonna give much away about the movie, other than DAMN it's good and creepy. Liam Neeson is a great actor, and this is the first time I had seen him in a horror role (not counting Darkman) and he knocks it outta the park.

Between the great acting, and the 75% of the film ricci is nude, it's well worth watching :)

So I just saw this movie, and wow. Had me second guessing myself up until the end. Even then I still wasn't sure!

Was the temperature knob used to control some kind of gas in the room?

I read the wiki and it sounds like even the people writing the wiki were guessing until the end and arent' sure lol.

:lol

It's on netflix instant streaming, if that helps anyone out.

that's where I saw it as well. At first I was like, "allright, christina ricci" then I was like, "damn, haven't seen a decent movie that tripped me up like this in a while." I liked it better than Shutter Island imo.

I also found Liam very comforting in a weird manner, then you're thrown for a loop.

This has been suggested by Netflix and I passed, but after seeing it recommended here, I gave it a chance, and wow, that was AWESOME! I love films like this! My only issue was the Mac guy... I just can't buy him in anything other than "I'm a Mac."

I saw this tonight with Dawn and we both were going "Well was she or wasn't she?" at the end. I vote she really wasn't up until the end scene.

I watched it yesterday on netflix streaming and thought it was kinda interesting. I was pretty sure it was one way up until the end and then I wasn't very sure of anything.

I too believe that she was alive, I think all the hallucinations/dreams make it seem like she is dead. But when he sticks the enbalming tool into Mac guy at the end and he reacts to the pain I think it gives it away.

Just checked it out. I liked what they did with the whole idea, but I just felt like it was poorly executed. Not very thrilling for a thriller, except in the one point where you find out the truth.

Yea, it wasn't too "thrilling", but it was pretty damned creepy.

I looked at it as more of a horror film. Agreed about Long though. I can see him either as the kid from dodgeball or the kid from jeepers creepers, or the mac guy. He did a pretty good job of emoting in the movie though, not oscar worthy but at least a pretty decent acting job.

I really don't get why everybody hates on every male actor under 25 who starts to become popular. Justin Long, Shia Labeouf, Michael Cera, I don't have a problem with any of them, in fact I think Shia Labeouf is much more talented than anybody gives him credit for. Is it just because nobody wants to see their favorite actors replaced when they get too old for the same roles?

Shia sucks. Plain and simple. He is a horrible actor, and you should feel bad for liking him. Every movie he has been in that I have seen he has brought down with his bad acting, and that INCLUDES the transformers movies. I avoid him like herpes. He always tends to play the nerd guy who gets the incredible girlfriend but still manages to say NONOOONONONONONONONOONONONO at least 6 times in a film, and that is the summation of his entire career. He is a one note wonder, and the wonder is why the hell he is in the movies.

I can't stand Cera either, but that's cause he has such a punchable face and always plays the same nerdtastic roles. I couldn't stand him on AD, I can't stand him in movies, and I don't see movies with him in them. Mistaking that one guy for him is what kept me from seeing zombieland for a few weeks.

Long, on the other hand, DID a good job acting in the movies he was in, I just don't think he is well suited to dramatic acting so much as comedic acting. He was great in Jeepers Creepers, but he was also playing a spazzed out scared ****less guy, which was kinda funny at times.

SO, back on topic, Afterlife is a great horror movie, but less thrilling and more psychological horror. Worth watching once, anyway.
