Advice on how to Fix MR Millenium Falcon.

I was hoping some of the experts out there might have some ideas on how to fix this Master Replicas Millenium Falcon..

This is actually a replacement for the first one that I got, that had a horrible paint job. This one, has a great paint job, but has light bleeding around the cockpit. Is there a way I can remove the semi transparent cockpit backdrop, and get a paintbrush back there, to cover up the bleeding?

Im not goiong to return this one, for this problem.. I like the paintjob on this one too much to chance it.. But I would like to fix the minor issue.

Thanks in advance!

Ouch... Only way I can think of is to repaint the cockpit tunnel yourself, starting with silver as a base coat. There is a Testor's color that is virtualy identical to the Falcon base straight out of the bodel.

Thanks for the reply PHArchivist.
Any idea how I can open the tunnel up without damaging it?

Huuum,

I didn't check mine as can't plug it in the way it's displayed,
but I'm sure quite more than a few will have the same problem, I doubt your the only one. I don't think you will be able to take it a part, it's definetaly glued in place and not worth risking it.

Chance it??? How much did you spend on that thing? Chance should not be an issue.

My 2 cents.

if you do get it open, a length of foil should do the trick of blocking the light. No idea why this wasnt done on assembly.

Good idea, I might be able to slide the foil around the cockpit backdrp, without having to take anything apart.. I might attaempt this.

LMAO!! I would hate to be around when he was done! :eek

I looked at the construction photos of the MR prop, with the model all opened up, and you can clearly see that the area that I am having a problem with, is painted a thick flat dark gray, to stop any light bleed through.

Mine is simply defective. I havent decided if I am going to try an tackle this. It doesnt look like I will be able to get any foil back there. IT looks like the only 2 ways I can think of are to:

Remove the cockpit endcap somehow. (Very Risky)
Or
Remove the transparent cockpit backdrop and get behind it, mask everything off, and spray it.. This seems like the better option.

I could have sworn I saw someone on here, replacing the backdrop with one that was darker and more realistic. If they did, then they would know how to do this? .. :confused
