shortly after seeing the movie, i went a little insane learning about dyeing crystals and painting crystals and generally looking up and reading any and all info about crystals i could find. ironically kinda like luthor in the movie :lol

but.. a few months later i have finished my pieces, and have some kind of neat looking rocks.

these are dyed selenite.

3 different pieces. the last one went through the dyeing process twice, so its a little darker. my camera blows, and doesnt take great shots in sunlight, but those are pretty close to the color it actually is.

im happy with em :)

also, a pic of the quartz test i did.

the quartz still has a few "clear" spots left on it (dyed also), but it helps give a pretty cool sheen effect to the rock. damned if it doesnt look natural in person. especially with the matrix near the bottom.

nifty :)

Looks great Chris.

I think a "group" photo of your whole collection is needed.

i finished this piece off a day or so ago :)

i think it came out pretty nicely.

I think you should do a run of dyed quartz. Each person would get something different. Just a thought.

I would so be in if you did. That would be awesome.

Nice work Chris. That looks like the stuff you see in those "New age" catalogs, and that's a compliment. :thumbsup

:lol i appreciate it.

if i would have known something like this existed in a catalog, i would have picked it up a long time ago. it would have saved me a month or so of working ;)

thanks guys. no plans for a run just yet, but i do have several test pieces i may part with. ill think about it today while at work.
