Abbyshot Doctor Who Coat

Hi there. I was wondering if anybody out there owns this coat. What can you tell me about it's overall quality? Is it pretty screen accurate? I'd like to buy it, and at $300 it seems pretty good. The reviews on abbyshot's site look ok, but there aren't many and I wanted to get a more in-depth review of the coat from a forum member.

It's an amazing coat for everyday wear. The pattern is very very close, but drapes around the collar differently due to using wool rather than faux suede. The cut and contours of the coat are brilliant and it flows like the onscreen version when worn. It is much darker than shown in the Abbyshot pictures, so is the lining. Considering they used wool instead of the faux suede, it is excellent and well worth the money. When you wear it, it looks bespoke and well fitted if you are slim like Tennant.

I totally agree. I own one. It is heavier than the screen-used, but of much finer quality, as it's wool.
My pics represent it pretty much as it is- it's REALLY worth picking up.

wow it looks incredible! thanks for the pics Quasi. That's a much better representation of the coat then the pics on abbyshot.

... and if the collar and lapel spread really bothers you, you can get your tailor to put a popper under the collar at the back of the neck that will prevent the whole thing from folding down too far and causing the lapel spread. Obviously the faux suede versions don't have this problem as the nap does that job with friction, wool moves though.

Wow... you've got that nailed. To keep with the natural fibers, you can have a tailor put some horsehair interfacing (also known as haircloth) in the collar to stiffen it up, but will still have a natural drape.

It's neither (unless he specifically requested 3 button). Looks like a good close enough find to me.

Quasi, those are GREAT pics and a GREAT suit. You nailed it ALL. Even the hair and facial expressions look great. Awesome to see such dedication to the costume and the good Doctor. Please keep the pics coming!

Suit? $129.00 at K&G!
Needs some tailoring tweaks, but hey, it works.
Shot these (and MANY others) for Abbyshot. (Wish they'd get them up!)
Couldn't have done it without my wife's help. (My partner in geekdom.)
Seriously, the coat is really cool and worth every penny.

I'm going to have to get off my unemployed, 15 year old ass and get a job. The coat looks awesome and I'd be happy dropping my money on it. You and your wife did a great job at the photos by the way, they really look professional.

Just one question;
On the site they list the coat as limited edition, how limited? If I come back in a year will I still be able to buy it?

Hey gang, I'm seriouisly looking into buying the Abbyshot Tenth Doctor coat, but sizing wise - I'm right in the middle of Large and XLarge. Rats!

I'm normally a 44 LONG in suits. Wide shoulders, long arms. Does anyone own a Large that can say how it fits on them?

Chart says 44, with 19" shoulders. Then 48 with 20. Would I be swimming in the XL?

Please note back!
