Abbyshot 10th Doctor coat - opinioons?

I know there is an old, old thread on this, but rather than necro post, I'm curious to see how people are feeling about this today given a few years time to see other offerings. With Abbyshot putting the 10th Doctor coat on sale, I'm sorely tempted to pick it up to replace an Ebay micro-suede coat I picked up a few years ago. Love the Ebay coat, which seems to have a really close design including slanted pockets, the right split and pleat in the back, etc, but it's both too light to wear everyday with my suit, and not cut properly to properly fit over a jacket anyways. Understanding that I may need to get a tailor to add a popper to the collar to get the wool blend to sit properly, can anyone who has the Abbysot coat weigh in on accuracy and quality? The photos on Abbyshot are terrible, and make the coat look like a horsehair trenchcoat, with no flow, but I read that it's largely just bad photography on display there. Again, key for me is being able to wear it daily over my regular suit jacket, and since I live in a wet climate, being able to CLEAN it (which I don't feel confident my Ebay coat could take). Any input? THANKS!

I know there are other issues but the thing that bothered me most about it was the heavier material vs the faux suede. I have a couple of the other Abbyshot coats but didn't go with the 10th Doctor coat since it being one of my favorites the AS version just didn't work for me. That being said they are coming out with and updated faux suede version to replace the current one which I assume may be why it's on sale.

Some people love them and if you are wanting a heavier one than it might work for you.

Just got my coat last night, and for anyone else thinking about it, I thought I'd post some quick thoughts. Overall, very happy with the coat - beautifully made, lovely wool blend, looks very sharp. The pattern is not quite as accurate as the ebay coat I got a few years ago (pockets are straight, rather than slanted, the brown seems a bit darker than the screen version, and it is less fitted in the cut), and the wool is HEAVY compared to the micro-suede, so it drapes and flows a bit differently. It however is cut to fit over a suit, and looks fantastic as a more formal coat. Also, the photos Abbyshot have used on the site do NOT do this piece justice - much, much better looking in person. All in all, despite the slight accuract issues, very, very happy with it as a coat - well worth what I paid for it. Support from Abbyshot DID say they have a more accurate version in the works, which will see the light of day sometime after they sell through their stock of the current coat - likely not until the summer at the earliest.

The color of the abbyshot is actually considerably lighter than the real coat.

Seriously? Never seen the costume in person. Must by the effect of studio lighting as I always think of it as more of a cinnamon colour. Regardless, the AS piece is, even taking the DW aspect out of it altogether, a very, very nice formal overcoat. Anyone on the fence about it, and not wanting to break the bank for one of the truly spectacular recreations available, take the plunge - you won't find a nicer representation for under two hundred bucks.
