Ok so heres what I want to do.

I want to turn THIS (a 12-15 passenger black van)

Into THIS!!

And heres the catch... The van has to be a rental :unsure

I'm the Best Man for my friend's wedding leaving me, among other things, in charge of the bachelor party. I figured we needed an extra special way to get from place to place. So I thought what better way than the A-Team van!!

I know I wont be able to make it look perfect, but i want to make sure I can do the key details such as the grill guard, the lights on the roof, the big red stripe on the side, and hopefully the spoiler. And because the van can't be damaged it makes my job very tricky.

I figure the roof lights can be held on with strong magnets, and I can make the grill guard out of painted pvc pipe (still not sure how I would attach it though)

As for the paint job, and spoiler I pretty stumped. I'm content to just ditch the gray part of the van the way they did for the movie and just keep it red and black. I had thought about making the stripe out of adhesive vinyl, which could be pretty expensive for a one day endeavor, or some kind of low tac tape like gaffers tape, but I dont know if there are better options out there.

I'd appreciate any tips or advice you folks have for accomplishing a project like this. :D

Hi it wouldent look as good as a 82 gmc vandura would but all you need is some insulation foam some resin and a red spray can

Get someone to lock you in a shed of seemingly useless scrap and I'm sure in the great A-Team tradition you will drive out a short time later in an awesome van :)

I work at a large format graphics shop, and we have several low-tack removable vinyls that could make the stripes.

As for the spoiler, I'd cut the shape from sintra (like styrene, only thicker) then use a heat gun to bend to shape. Put a few good size earth magnets on it and it should stay put under normal speeds!

The top lights could be made and attached the same way.

The grill guard could be made fairly easily with PVC pipe painted black.

Check a local sign shop and they should have what you need. Not sure what your budget is, though.

I would say the red vinyl would be about the best option, like suggested. Just make sure it's low tack! It could be a pain getting off!

Pop of those chrome hub caps. Hopefully the rims will be black, and that would look much better. You may check
into a grease pencil, for the red in the rims (just lines!). Just make sure it washes off!
