8TH Passenger ALIEN 1:1 - BIG PIC WARNING - EVEN MORE PICS

Got some better pics taken - will get more off the camera shortly....battery died.

I tried to edit the other thread title but I couldnt. Hoping a new thread with the new forum software will allow that.

The old pics are here.... http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=20776&highlight=passenger

I`ll edit the new pics into this first page and just update this from now on.

The green stuff is me wiggling a laser at its head :thumbsup Still havent got round to dabbing the saliva.:$

Very cool pics and even cooler Alien :thumbsup

The last pic is the last thing Brett saw....yikes!!!

Cheers,

Kraig

is this the one that sold for 4k? shame it's made of latex and foam, otherwise really cool replica.

Nice. Will be getting the Sideshow version m'self.

I'll put it in front of the big mirror in the hallway. The missus won't notice any difference. ;)

Great photos! :eek

Love the Sandtrooper reflection in the second photo, too. :)

Cheers guys.

THe material is latex as someone says - I doubt theres many better looking 1:1 build quality out there. I`d mutch prefer this over a fibreglass super shiney version. THe material looks very authentic IMHO. :love :booty :love

New pics in POST #1 and ...what the hell...here as well.

The red light is a MR vader sabre

Okay that is about the creepiest life-size Alien I've seen. Amazing detail and freaky! Dunno how you could sleep at night with that thing there, hehe.

Beautiful piece!

latex doesn't last too long, so i would never pay 4k for something made of cheap latex. give me fiberglass anyday. it looks and feels cheap. and by the pictures, it doesn't look accurate either. her legs are way too thin, and the head too big, between other flaws. if you are happy with it, that's what matters. i wouldn't be. so back at you. :booty :booty :booty

Luckily its in my office so no sleeping...not often anyways.

I also got a big office...which is just as well as you can just see vaders cape in the full length shot. WIll be posting pics of him soon. You can see him and a hlaf finished trooper standing in the ALien Dome reflection. Vaders on the left of the dome in most close up pics....you can just make him out.

Latex will last a very long time. Just keep it from direct sunlight. As far as saying that its cheap latex have you seen it in person RacerX? Do you even have 4k? The only people that would want it in fiberglass is someone that would want to recast it. Now I have seen this in person cause IM the one who painted it. This is the most accurate alien prop out there buddy. And for your information it does not feel and look cheap.

for me its one of the coolest and best looking alien props i´ve ever seen.
maybe a little bit dry looking. i would use some silicone or latex-shine spray here and there for a organic glossy and slimy look.

ok, the legs may be a little bit idealized, but i think thats the look the original alien design was meant to be.
looks more extraterestrical this way, i like it.
the original filming suit didnt looked that much alien style, it was more a "human in a suit" style.

Compare it to Geigers alien art work rather than the actual suit, you'll find it's a very good likeness.

Just what is the lifespan of a high grade foam latex? would you get 20-30 years out of it?

Im sure this piece will outlive my interest in Alien. I have the silicon Cinemaquette Arnie and have heard the horror stories.. OMG you paid how much for something made of ice cream - it wont last past your 85th birthday. :lol If this Alien was "cheap" latex then I`d not be happy. However this is "great" latex.

It looks very close to my cinemaquette Alien; Giger approved that and it too has the same very thin legs.

Its not as dry in person and the paint job is the best I seen on anything..bust or gun or pred mask...its just fabulous.

RacerX - its not for you - I`m not into practicalities - is it too big? - yes - might I out live it? yes - Each to their own - On Chewie/Howards new Harrison Bust thread I recall you mentioning that you preffered the first bust to his new sculpt - Howard thinks his new one is better - so does ...well...everyone else. Your opinion is unique and yours to share.

I spent a lot more cash on my vader 1:1 and thats a LOT more inacurate...close but no cigar...Lucas has the cigar, in his archives.

Compared to what as Alien collectors and collectors in general we are used to being offered this is ...A: A bargain and B: Super accurate. Repeat - think about what were used to being offered in htis hobby. This is as good as Alien collectables gets. (Actually I have a 1:4 Queen made from the movie puppet - perhaps thats as good as it gets) But if you wait for a better 1:1 one to come along you better get your hands dirty and start making.:cool

Im very happy to have the opportunity to own such a piece.:love
