7 Piece Spider-Man Raimi Suit

Just decided to finally post progress on my suit. I've been long over due for a Spider-Man costume. My dream is to re-create the Raimi style version from the original movies and accurate accordingly to the pieces that all fit together.

This is me when I got it, before it's modded progression -

I do, in fact have three different masks. I'll be even doing the CGI version with the mirror lenses and the silver frames - Which is my favorite version. I've already cut those out as well as my own face-shell I created. I'll be posting the photos for that too when I get the chance.

And, this is what I'm currently working on -

Let me know any of your thoughts.

This is sweet! I personally love seven piece suits and in excited to see your progress!

Since my computer is down, I'll have to post these using my phone and that means I can't do it all in one message because my phone will only let me post so much in one go.

So when I ordered the costume. I asked for it to be seven piece. This is the photo they sent me when it was made - securedownload-14.jpeg

As you can see, they altered the dye sub pattern file so that the belt was longer. This didn't seem like much of a problem - A quick solution came to mind. So I took it to a lady that sews, marked where it would be folded and sewn -

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get this made? I really want one!

Then you're probably wondering how I managed to actually re-construct the belt webbing pattern to be more in center - Accurate to what it looks like in the movie. After a few days of trying different methods from painting to marker. I finally came up with the solution. Using the excess material from when the belt was cut down to the right shape. I began marking where the webs should be. I cut out pieces of the excess material and fit it down across the inaccurate webs, as if it were a puzzle piece. I cut the pieces small enough so I could leave gaps for the webs to hide the frayed cut spandex to be hidden and puffy painted on. I used super glue to apply these pieces. 140720_0001.jpg 140720_0002.jpg

I ordered mine from Zentai-Zentai.com
They even do EVA lenses which are only $15 dollars. 140915_0004.jpgThey are extremely light, flexible and look really good! I ordered one of the masks that came with it with lenses take closer a look at the lenses.

Here's a nice update for you all. It's not done just quite yet around the underneath areas for de-tachable viewing. I'm going to get a reprint on the pants and do two different versions on the pants.
