Hey guys,

So a lot of you have seen this one already. And you can view all the wonderful examples of them there. But we want to make our Lightsaber kit available officially! (as a printed kit)

If you already have a 3D printer, DON'T buy from us. (unless you specifically just want to support us) We have made the files publicly available here. So download and print away! :D

I get requests once in a while asking if we'll print it because they don't have a 3D printer and don't want to go the 3D hubs route due to the inconsistency of quality. In which case, now we do!

It was also on tested (a few times actually)

You can see the full gallery here: http://www.redicubricks.com/3d-printed-full-sized-obi-wan-lightsaber/ They are printed at high resolution 60-90 micron layers on Ultimaker 2+ printers in PLA. We clean up the brims and supports as required. This is the quality you can expect from our kits:

(It is usually all grey or silver, the bubblestrip is transparent filament, which is more like translucent)

It comes test fitted, but unassembled. Minor cleanup may be required, but it's generally good enough quality to paint right on top. (unless you want a mirror finish)

It comes in parts like this:

It's very easy to assemble and requires no tools or even glue. We also have a painting & assembly guide for reference:

You can buy them here for $80CAD (~$62 USD) http://shop3d.ca/product/full-sized-obi-wan-lightsaber-raw-print-model-kit/
Or reply to this thread.

And you can see reviews and other RPF'ers builds here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=212739

Thanks for looking!

No 3D printer on my end but I did just order one of these bad boys:thumbsup plus the print quality is super good.

Happy May 4th! :D

Since we launched this puppy a few years ago this day, We're celebrating it's popularity by running a special 1 day sale @ 50% OFF the printed kit.
$39 CAD = ~$30.67 USD

We print these at super high res 60-90 microns on Ultimaker 2+'s. Shipping times will depend on how many orders we get since it takes a little while to print. First come first serve.

At this price, even if you're curious to see what a 3D printed kit looks like it might be a good option. :D

Anyways, happy May 4th, thanks for all your support!

Awesome! Do you offer finishing services as well for the useless painters in the house?

Hey Thanks guys. Hope you enjoy!

We only do that for custom projects right now. It may change in the near future as we're shifting stuff around in the shop, but currently not.

That's too bad... I love the one you painted up and would gladly pay extra to have it done. Regardless... just ordered one! :D

I had to take advantage of the sale and ordered 2. Ought to be a cool project to do with the fiance :cool

Jacky, finally had a chance to put this thing together. Just completely amazed at the quality of this 3d print. Can't wait to get some paint on this baby!

I picked up 2 kits on May the 4th. Here's a "before and after" pic comparing an unfinished kit with a painted and assembled saber.

This thing was insanely fun to put together! I now want to try my hand at some other 3D printed sabers :cool *nudge nudge* Valcrow

Matt, are those real bubbles or the 3D ones with the kit? They look amazing.

Im on my second Obi now, done the weathered and now doing AFBB. Jacky is a genius, pure and simple :)

The bubbles are actually leftovers from TCSS; they aren't 3D printed. The D-ring is the only other thing not 3D printed.

Is it just for show or can these really support lights and sound?

It is empty on the inside so if you wanted to install something, I'm sure you can. I haven't seen any pics of someone doing it yet, but could be out there. Definitely not suitable for dueling.

Do these only ship to the US and Canada? The options on site for posting only give those two as options :-/ kit looks amazing. ;-)
