Hey guys!!

I'm looking at making myself a jacket from the 2018 Robin Hood when he is dressed in his "hood" costume but for the life of me I cant put my finger on what material is used for the hood itself, I have a few different faux leathers in mind for the main jacket but the hood itself is really puzzling me. I'm very new to making so the specific names of these things isn't in my arsenal of knowledge and I have no idea where to look for reference documents as to how it was made.

I hope you guys can help me out!!

Just from a quick google of promo pics, it looks very much like waxed cotton (see Barbour Jackets). Seems to be a go-to material for looking leather-ish. I assume it's cheaper than leather, and is probably much easier to stitch / fabricate quickly.

I agree waxed cotton could work well. In-universe it could be meant to be a thin deerskin, which is very soft and malleable. The hood looks like a relatively soft, thin material in order to drape and lay the way it does.
